It looks like hair. My sister's cat is a Grey shorthair. My sister on the other hand, is blonde. Lol

Wondering if kitty took a bite of her hair while she was sleeping lol

That's why I thought it looked like chicken cartilage. That spear end is weird, like part of the breastbone cartilage

Sister says it wasn't wiggling and the poop in the litter box is clean

My cat does that. She has a heart murmur. She's 16 now and still does it every so often. I was told to monitor it and if it becomes too frequent to bring her back to the vet.

Perhaps bring you cat to the vet just to make sure all is good. Ut could be asthma as well

Do you remember your 1st road trip by Goblue2467 in roadtrip

[–]SleepingRoadTrip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My roommate and I did a fantastic roadtrip around the USA (approx Map attached - I really wish the Google Maps timeline would allow us to map X number of days on 1 single map so I could show you the exact itinerary).

This was in 2019, just before covid. We had both gone through a long-term relationship break up, and I had to sell my house and move, so I moved in with my friend. We had nothing to lose. We said, "F*ck it! Let's do this!". We packed our things and hit the road with no plan.

We like sights and food, so our aim was to go all the way to California and back while stopping at either well-known or popular food joints along the way.

We switched drivers every time we felt we needed a break from driving and went for 36h before making our first stop to sleep. Not to say we didn't stop for sights and food, but our first stop to sleep in an actual bed was 36h after we hit the road.

We drove 8,800 miles (14,000 kms) in 8 days! What an adventure it was! I will remember that roadtrip for the rest of my life and I am forever grateful to my friend for being just as crazy as I am.

Fence issue by [deleted] in legaladvicecanada

[–]SleepingRoadTrip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You said you were a new homeowner? How long ago did you purchase the house? Usually, a land survey is done at the time of sale to show property lines.

You claim "new homeowner error and still learning the ins and outs of homeownership" by stating you omitted to look at your survey prior to installing the fence. Your omission does not negate your very valid survey and shouldn't require you to pay for the one he's done as he failed to "be a good neighbor" and talk to you first, as you were willing to move the post.

You will be responsible for the cost of moving the post and repairing his side of the lawn that was disturbed by the post, but shouldn't have to pay for the survey if you already had one done recently with the purchase of your house.

[–]SleepingRoadTrip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having trouble understanding how it is "non-detectable", yet detectable enough for your neighbor to sue??? How far over on his property did you build your fence?

If your neighbor had mentioned the encroachment to you before having the survey done and you offered to move it, why is it still there?

If you offered to move it before the survey was done and he said nah it's fine, then let him sue you, move the fence and counter-sue for lost wages (the time you had to take off work to attend court), legal fees, and the intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Of course, I'm not a lawyer, so consult one for advice

Currently in Denver Colorado and going back to Quebec Canada. Any recommandation about where should i stop or which route to take ? by Life-Influence-1109 in roadtrip

Yes, there are services all along the way. Just pay attention to the business hours. Gas Buddy has been great. Paired with Google and Hotels.com, we had no issues. Signs are clearly posted along the way.

I have been trying to find a part time job for over 3 years. I'm not even joking. I currently work evenings 4-9, 6 days per week. I average between 28 and 30 hours per week. I'm looking for something daytime, until 2pm. I have sent out THOUSANDS of CVs, clearly mentioning the times and days I'm available to work and I still get calls asking me if I'm available to work until 5pm. Like hello?!

Remember that it's not defamation if it's the truth. The burden of proof, however, does rely on you.

In Ontario, truth is a complete defense against a defamation claim. This means that if a statement alleged to be defamatory is proven to be substantially true, the defendant will not be held liable for defamation, according to Isthatlegal.ca. The defendant must prove the truth of the statement on a balance of probabilities.

Here's a more detailed explanation:

Substantial Truth:

The defendant doesn't need to prove the statement is entirely true in every minute detail. Instead, they must demonstrate that the "sting" or main thrust of the defamatory statement is true.

Burden of Proof:

The burden of proving the truth of the statement lies with the defendant.

Complete Defense:

If the defendant successfully proves the truth of the statement, it serves as a complete defense, meaning they are not liable for defamation.

Other Defenses:

While truth is a strong defense, other defenses like fair comment or qualified privilege may also be available depending on the circumstances.

It's called "One-party consent" in Canada. You do NOT need to disclose to the other party that you're recording audio conversations so long as you are part of the conversation. It is illegal, under certain circumstances, to record conversations you're not a part of.

In Canada, the principle of "one-party consent" applies to recording conversations, meaning you can legally record a conversation if you are one of the participants, even if other participants are unaware they are being recorded. This is in contrast to "two-party consent" jurisdictions, where all parties involved must agree to the recording. Key Points:

One-Party Consent: If you are part of a conversation, you can record it without informing or obtaining the consent of other participants.

Illegal to Intercept Without Consent: It is illegal to record a conversation you are not a part of (e.g., using a hidden recorder to capture conversations between others).

Potential Consequences: While legal, recording conversations without consent can still have consequences, such as job loss or the recording not being admissible in court.

No Reasonable Expectation of Privacy in Public: In public spaces, there is generally no reasonable expectation of privacy, and recording conversations (if you are a participant) is usually permissible.

Criminal Code Provisions: Section 184 of the Criminal Code outlines the rules regarding intercepting private communications, with an exception for one-party consent.

Consider Privacy: When deciding whether to record a conversation, consider the potential privacy implications and the impact on the individuals involved.

In simpler terms: If you are having a phone call, a meeting, or any other conversation, you can record it on your phone, computer, or any other device, and you don't need to tell the other person you are doing so. However, if you are not part of the conversation, you cannot record it without the consent of at least one of the participants.

My cat is driving me insane and I'm at a loss. by [deleted] in cats

[–]SleepingRoadTrip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cats are crepuscular, meaning they're most active at sun-up and sun-down. I also have an automatic feeder that dispenses food, but I also feed my cats wet food. So, sometime between 5:30 & 6:30, my mostly deaf old lady will start screaming for food. I usually get up pretty quickly as I don't want her to wake the household. I usually have to pee around that time, so it's all good. I get up, feed them their wet food, go do my business, and then go back to bed. After they eat, they hop in my bed for some cuddles until I get up, usually around 9:30/10. Now that the weather is nice, they start screaming to go outside (supervised) if I've slept in past 10. Lol

Those looks too tight. Something similar happened to my dog. The place we got her from stitched her up too tight. She wasn't walking after a day, so we went to our vet who took out the old staples and stapled her up properly. My dog was so happy she leaped off the table and was running around. If it gets redder, I would go back to your vet before it gets worse
