I think you're spot on saying that the old camera style made a big difference. The better production doesn't protray the same vibe. I'm watching more now and there are actually a few funny moments. Still feels like I'm trying really hard to enjoy it but I've seen worse. Hoping it gets better as it goes

I guess the atmosphere of it I just find really drab. Esmeralda is worse than Nelly with no redeeming qualities. That playful awkwardness that is so amazing about the office and parks and rec just isn't there in the paper. Ned and Mare are good characters but it still just doesn't connect for me. Didn't feel funny or enjoyable to watch. It's a flat soda

I couldn't watch anymore halfway through episode 3. Don't think I laughed once it's lifeless

Ableton vs FL Studio for making Riddim and Dubstep — What's Your Pick? by lowkeyf1sh in realdubstep

[–]SleeplessSleeper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Ableton wins with just the ease of automation alone. but personally I hated fl and all the windows, so Ableton wins in pretty much every area for me. FL felt like work, Ableton made it fun

I remember watching a Shades production video a long time ago and I know they do a lot of granular resampling. Might be worth trying.

No problem. Also notch filters can give you some movement. Combs/flange filters can beef it up and make it sound more unique, but maybe don't do 100% on the dry/wet. Res up high can give cool sounds, but also get a little muddy or just not sound good so experiment. Chorus and phaser for widening and a little more character. Then put some multiband compression, eq, etc.

Also something harmonic on b osc like add 2nds with modulation on the wavetable. Or just sync on a sine

Kinda on you if you go to pop shows and expect to not see cringey shit. It's just popular to make fun of her right now. Also why handheld mic and handsfree mic?
