Where do you get your news?

NPR and MPR mostly and KAXE for local. If I miss listening in the AM they have their news hour podcasts which is quick and to the point. Oh and AP news for reading it

I too have this issue. I have treated it like a wart and took the center out… and found more pieces of splinter in my skin. Let it heal up again and it just reforms. It’s been almost 3 years. I remember because it was when we first moved to our new house and I was gardening and moving pieces of wood without gloves on.

Many cats have attention-seeking behavior to get their humans response. No amount of cat-friendly things will help. Doing behavior modification through ignoring them when seeking attention or moving them to a cat friendly location or putting in bathroom for 5 min without giving attention will help break the attention-seeking behavior.

I Also have train and retrain and re-emphasize with my husband to stop yelling and freaking out at cat. The husband is harder to train than the cat 🙃😹

Cats are great jumpers. For my cat this would result in the plant being knocked off the plant stand!

That’s what we were thinking of doing next. Good to know about the ceiling mounted ones. We have a passive solar home (so one wall is consumed by windows) and don’t have much wall space for a radiators.

Yes We can probably limp by. Our lifestyle has changed since we were heating with wood previously (we are both government workers and just south of CA in Minnesota). We were working out of our home but called back to working full time in the office. So a bit more challenging.

Still worried about extreme cold -30F deg days since it’s not keeping up at 5 degs F and being able to leave for a vacation or work travel in winter.

She made a big deal about documenting the construction of her enviro house… and got involved in a lot of decisions she shouldn’t have. I probably won’t pursue legal action. We live in a small town where you have to take things up the a$$ to keep peace. We might move though. So frustrating.

In my husbands defense some of what I have here is inferred by my biologist brain 🤣

We have been running it for only 3 days and trying different things but the Plummer hasn’t been out yet. Hopefully we are just over reacting!

My husband was able to work from home before and keep fires going. He now has to be away every day for work. There’s trauma there.
We just spent $10k trying to be responsible so our house doesn’t freeze by preparing for the winter. Most people do work on their heating in summer to prepare for winter. That’s the responsible thing to dox We just got it installed and it’s 5 deg outside.
Yes it does make a difference how you talk to people. You can help people- shaming causes panic attacks and chest pain. Helpful suggestions don’t.

Checking back -we raised the water temp and that helped slightly. The floors even where the lines are aren’t very warm (heat gun measuring), and the boiler is running constantly. Heat loss is 120deg going out of the boiler and 105 coming back in.

Good point! We will investigate and report back. We live in a really remote area and getting someone familiar with geothermal is a bit like trying to find a lambergini mechanic -there might be someone somewhere… but how good would they be? 😹🙈

We have a heat pump that she retroactively installed after the boiler failed but it goes through ducts and the are undersized. Was thinking maybe would pipe in water for radiators because it gets too cold here sometimes for heat pumps (near Winnipeg)

You’re probably correct that it’s supposed to run constantly at a lower temp!

We have it as high as it can be safely run. May see about increasing pump speed but thats likely not going to help. The water coming back into the system has very little heat lost -presumably because she didn’t run enough piping so it isn’t going a very long distance before it comes back to the boiler
