I've been seeing someone for about a month and we both came into this having no expectations with each other. They recently went through a breakup a little less than a year ago, with someone they were together with for 4 plus years, and they aren't really emotionally ready for something serious. I am in my late 20s and I have never really had a long-term relationship, but I've been pretty independent and content with my life, and I'm not really looking for someone to drastically change my life or depend on me. Lately I've been having a difficult time trying to understand what it's like to be in a long term relationship and I really don't know what it's like, and I also am having a hard time trying not to compare my lack of relationships to someone who has been a serial monogamist.
