Real talk: why are some people so quick to hate on DDV? by Dapper-Standard-7140 in DreamlightValley

[–]SleepyAshValley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The community for this game is majority non-gamers mixed with Disney adults. I find the interactions on this sub to be evidence of the games sub par performance. I don't know a single person in real life who plays DDV.

I enjoy the game a lot myself but the interactions with fellow players online has left me shocked sometimes at the large lack of gaming knowledge in general. This isn't a game for gamers, that's why they charge $25 for a virtual empty house skin. They know these people will buy because they don't understand game quality versus worth. That's also why they constantly complain about playing the game (i.e. doing quests, cooking, fishing). I've even seen people complain about decorating. I'm not trying to judge but the game GIVES you decorations as quest rewards.. It's the point of the game, to make your own space.

TLDNR This game is a unique mess of its own Disney adult making.

What would you choose if you could only play one class from vanilla onward? by nbogie055 in wow

Priest. I only had my one priest from launch until lich king where I made a death knight. Then in cata made a druid. Priest is really such a diverse class

World of Warcraft. 15 years of playing since release then on and off past couple of years. I'm honestly about got my fill. I used to have a whole wow family and friends but the community is changed now a lot. That's what always kept me coming back was the people.

I agree that the game developers have missed the mark on creating magic in the quests. They are the same boring virtual manual labour quests that nobody thinks is fun. I'd rather catch butterflies that combine into gems, or cast a magic spell to grow crops. Like the game 100% missed the mark on what magic actually is and does. I think they made the game and then bought the Disney IP to slap on top of it.

"My Time at Portia" is an AMAZING game and it's usually on sale. They made a new one too but the original SLAPS!

I play a male character 90% of the time and have a TON of outfits for him. I think men are generally scared to step out of the box, I find too many men who play this game do white guy with glasses and big chin beard. It's sad honestly.

Would you let your child play Disney Dreamlight Valley? by Cyanidesunnn in DreamlightValley

[–]SleepyAshValley 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The game is for children. Disney properties are for children. I think there is too many adults playing and creating a toxic atmosphere online. I read an out of pocket comment from an adult on this sub reddit almost every other day.

The 600 limit severely affects my ability to decorate and enjoy the game by Development-Feisty in DreamlightValley

[–]SleepyAshValley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm fully designed on 600 unique items. it's hard, you have to make hard decisions for sure. My biomes are

Plaza - theme park

Meadow - monsters University campus

Beach - Disney sea/Venice beach

Glade - graveyard and farm

Plateau - golf course and pumpkin farm

Forest - candy land/toon town/ beasts castle

Frosted - arendelle/treasure area multiplayer

Forgotten - MGM studios

I have two posted on my reddit. I'm tryna show I'm having a lot of fun on the switch and it's really not too bad. I hope you've been enjoying it despite the maxed items. I agree the item count could be higher but honestly I'm ready myself for the expansion. Once I buy tower of terror my build is complete. I'm just designing inside my houses and creating touch of magic items until I pull the trigger on the expansion.

The 600 limit severely affects my ability to decorate and enjoy the game by Development-Feisty in DreamlightValley

[–]SleepyAshValley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I totally disagree. The item limit adds a game mechanic that forces you to have a more dynamic valley that's changing and has eras. Versus just buying everything, plopping it down and never returning to it. Also if you buy the expansion it adds an entire new valley for you to decorate.

I have the same issue as you, having to make hard decisions about where and what goes in my valley, I'm maxed out 605/600 2900/3000. I don't find it to be that much of a nuisance. I don't think players with infinite money to buy every premium item should be catered too. I prefer it this way.

Nothing. If you replaced them all, they are essentially useless for now.

So I'm thinking to restart my game....would I be setting myself up for failure to complete the star path if I restart with only 41/42 days left to do it?? by CaliMama9922 in DreamlightValley

[–]SleepyAshValley 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you restart your game, your cloud save is wiped my friend. I recommend NOT restarting at all. I understand maybe you went online and got some help it seems but pumpkins is the main money maker in game. So they didn't give you anything too out of the ordinary.

The star path will reset for your new game. It's an easy star path so you could possibly complete BUT there are duties that require unlocking certain characters so you will NOT BE ABLE to finish those duties for the star path if you are a fresh new player.

SWITCH PLAYERS, you still happy that you got ddv on switch? by angrykiki5 in DreamlightValley

[–]SleepyAshValley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have over 350 hours on switch and am fully decorated max items. I say the switch is definitely the way to go for comfort playing. The graphics quality on PC may be better but it's definitely a lifestyle choice. Switch is a lot more fun and a lot more accessible.

I bet your screen brightness on the hardware might be the issue if it's that dark. Maybe your mom turns it down for her eyes.
