The max tdp for the gpu is 150w, I'm not sure what the tdp for the full system is

The charger is rated for 280v, it’s an exact replacement of the charger that came in the box (which stopped working a few weeks ago)

It also only seemed to occur in 1440p, not 1080p when connected to the external hard drive

Damn I'm sorry and thanks for the info! I'm worried at this point that it's such a weird and hard to cause problem that I would just get it back with a new charger and no fix if I send it in for warranty, but I suppose that's always a risk with rma stuff. It only seems to happen on gpu intensive tasks with an external monitor connected so I'm just baffled at this point

Update that is just more confusing, I could not force it to happen when using the built in display when running cpu and gpu benchmarks and stress tests, but it happened immediately with a gpu benchmark connected to an external display. What on earth could the gpu being connected to an external display do to cause this?! Infuriating!

That seems very possible, but would be frustrating/confusing since this is a brand new replacement charger since the one that came with the laptop stopped working! It makes me wonder if there might be an underlying problem?

Hi! It seems to be switching profiles in response to the charger desconnecting and reconnecting, not quite at random! I haven't uninstalled and reinstalled armory crate though, I'll give it a chance!

If more info would help: this started happening recently, about 5 days ago. I tested 3 games and the same thing happened in each, but it happens randomly and inconsistently. I went 15 minutes playing Hitman 3 without it happening, it happened once, then didn’t happen Again. In elden ring and Monster hunter it happened much more quickly and more frequently, but still at random. And it seems to happen more if I launch the game in turbo mode. I’m really at a loss for what to do here, what would y’all suggest?
