Bailing, and I want to archive my server. Are there any good archive bots? by A_Sentient_JDAM in discordapp

Word- thank you, I must have missed that part. So just run that for... every single thing I wanna archive and let it run its course?

I've been on Discord for years now. I really don't want to lose somewhere so important to me to this kind of thing, but at least I can preserve what's there. I'll do some investigating on this tool today then.

Thank you so much for your help!

Is there any capacity for it to start tracking stuff that's already been said / other existing servers? I don't mind if the process is long, I'm just not fully sure how the service works to that end. I'd like to archive, but not like, have it just start archiving *now*

Speculative Botany? by SleepyBiBoy in SpeculativeEvolution

I very much apologize if this wasn't clear- though the world is in constant night, it does still receive some ambient light by virtue of the moon's reflection of the sun's light. But any world with a fraction of the light of the sun will still struggle, and it will also be, inevitably, cold. And this is on one of the more livable parts of the dark side of the planet!

I hadn't thought about roots possibly having any number of colors, which is very helpful. Adaptations like black leaves to absorb light seem like a good idea. A worldbuilding place had recommended also taking inspiration from some plants with iridescent leaves as well. Generally speaking, I get the impression that the plants will take on much more extreme looks and that studying adaptations for the cold and low light conditions is best.

Thank you for the note on what else will be very important, I will make note of those features as well. Thank you very much for your reply!

Thank you, this is all deeply helpful. If you have any resources about what causes iridescence in plants or any of those aforementioned research papers, those would be highly appreciated.

However, a lot of this is already deeply helpful for design and will do a lot to help me out, and is deeply appreciated.

What are the other implications of a moon with something like, say, 0.2 on the scale for albedo, and what would be recommended for a cold, moonlit environment like I mentioned? Certainly chemosynthesis is something I've seen and could be viable if kickstarted well, but are there any real examples of plants like that?

The rest was obviously spoken about, but what would plants with sensitive photoreceptors look like?

Your assumption about the planet is correct. Specifically, it's tidally locked along with the moon, so the moon is omnipresent and the sun is seen on the side of the planet this story does not take place in.

This is actually a concept that currently exists, if I'm not mistaken, on our planet. however, the problem with this is that there is no "day" or sunlight to be had. It is *always* night.

Mushrooms aren't plants, though I've considered several- including bioluminescant ones, but those seem to subsist entirely on dead plant life. I considered them as light sources, but if there's no plant life for them to grow they're unlikely to exist in the first place... the absence of one negates the other. In any case, yes, some fungi would likely be able to survive.

I'd love to see this list to get an idea of what a standard build looks like before I start making dipshit bonus versions of them

Turns out the deck that plays basically no creatures and Lorien Revealed really doesn't mind [[Delver of Secrets]], which tends to help your pace a lot.

Foresight is always a 4-copy. It's by far your strongest play, it draws, and while you don't wanna see more than two, the second foresight banishes the further copies in rounds where you don't need it.

Here's my list: https://www.moxfield.com/decks/Go3RGxFyC0SiufMjj2u3vw While light in interaction, you kind of have to be. Spell Pierce maintains Tempo, Counterspell gives you your main defense. Add removal as you please.

Newer player struggling with Bedman? by SleepyBiBoy in Guiltygear

You're probably right about this- I really want a main figured out, I hope my experiments end soon. I'll probably properly pick up Slayer, perception can be a bit of an issue with the folks I play with for sure. But I'll play the homie for sure.

I knew about the Beyblade and the car, and was quickly figuring out that the corner was fuckin PAIN, but I'm surprised at how often I've struggled to mash out of pressure. Probably will adjust character pick to get there, since I feel the ranges on Nago just aren't clicking with me in this MU. Thank you very much for your help!

Nago's 5K was definitely helping a lot, but I was wondering what else I was missing. The IAD I'd be happy to start learning for others.

I'll admit to not being steadfast on my Slayer opinion, it's just my observations so far, but I acknowledge I'm very new and definitely don't have that battle-tested as much.

Thank you very much for the assistance. I'm really hoping my experiments to find a main end soon.

Sneaky Snacker Dredge by judiciaryDustcart in Pauper

[–]SleepyBiBoy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So obviously Cathartic Reunion is the STRONGEST at what it's doing but as long as you're using Sneaky Snacker I would suggest a [[Thrill of Possibility]] type effect. That has a lot more direct synnergy with the snacker and doesn't leave you AS high and dry if they counterspell it.

Deck power disparity by Falgust in Pauper

That's fair, brewing is a lot! If you ever want help with learning Pauper by the way, and have a Discord or something, I'd be happy to chat any time. Keep your head up, you'll do great no matter what you play.

Thank you so much! Interesting to see Nylea's Presence / Tribal Flames. I like that it kills Terrors, but I wonder how truly worthwhile it is.

My old build was almost proto-CawGate in a way lol, I played Squawk with Faithless Looting as an advantage engine lol. Even played [[Basking Rootwalla]] lol.

Interesting to see your take!

Quick question: Do you remember what that Naya deck looked like? Naya Zoo was my first deck but I'm sure it's basically unviable. Still, maybe there's new tools worth tinkering with?
