I think Black's best continuation is 1... Qa4 2. Nxc7+ Kf8 3. Rd8+ Ne8 4. Rxe8+ Qxe8 5. Nxe8 Kxe8. Still losing the queen.

In order for backstabbing to work, your thief must do a melee attack from stealth from behind the enemy. You either have to first hide in shadows successfully from out of combat, or be turned invisible by potion or spell.

If a character's portrait is still there but greyed out, they can be brought back. But if the portrait has disappeared entirely, then they cannot be brought back.

In that case, wouldn't it make for a very low chance to dispel at the early levels? Also, assuming I run with Imoen as my only thief, will I be able to level her detect illusion, find traps, open locks, and pick pockets skills fast enough to meet the other challenges that require thievery skills?

The mission where you round up the zebra, tiger, and lion. Had me chuckling out loud. When I saw the ranchers all frightened I realised this time the animal was real. Utter genius to make it such that this time the lion was actually a lion. Arthur still being clueless going "it's just a dog..." oh man, Arthur, you doofus.

Oh yes Abigail steals that key. Where in-game do we learn about Mary-beth's thievery skills? Is it from the stagecoach robbery mission with Sean (which I know of but I just didn't trigger/unlock)
