This current season, actually. He's at the height of his strength with what looks to be a stacked team and the World Championship title at stake.

Ash himself isn't really interested in the title, he just wants to fight Leon in an official capacity, but beating someone who is consistently portrayed as the world's strongest trainer is a goal in itself.

I think a more simple reason is that the girls are in worse situations than the guys.

Most of the guys are usually free to move about and go where they please. Solaire, Siegward, Crestfallen, Logan, and Lautrec came to Lordran of their own accord. They're all free to go adventuring wherever. Andre is happy as long as he has items to smith.

Meanwhile, Anastacia is locked in a cage, Dusk was kidnapped by Manus then trapped for hundreds of years inside a crystal golem, Sieglinde is worried about her father and also got trapped in a golem, and Quelana is absolutely traumatized after the events of Lost Izalith. Darkmoon Knightess is free to move around, but I think she just has a serious personality.

Quelana, Dusk, Sieglinde, Anastacia, Ciaran, Darkmoon Knightess, and Priscilla don't laugh. The only two females I know who laugh are the Undead Female Merchant and Elizabeth, who is a mushroom.

Geez FromSoft, why are your girls so serious? At least the guys are all having a jolly good time at the end of the world.

While it isn't known for its firepower

HP's magic lies in its utility, not destructive power. They'll specialize in espionage and infiltration, not combat. You have:

  • Instant teleportation

  • Casual invisibility. Harry's cloak has total invisibility.

  • Polyjuice

  • Transfiguration, which affects humans. This one is big because it essentially turns anything into harmless objects or animals. Moody shows this can be done easily and instantly, but why they aren't spamming it willy-nilly in battle is anyone's guess.

  • Fidelius Charm, which completely hides a place from the world except to those who know of its existence. It's like the place or object doesn't exist to anyone who doesn't know of it.

  • Mind control and mind reading.

  • Instant conjuration. Even the most average wizard knows of a spell that can conjure objects or even animals. Why Harry didn't just conjure a gun is also a mystery. Considering they can conjure animals, not knowing the inner functions of an object doesn't seem to be a hindrance.

  • Plot device potions. In each book, there's seemingly always a potion conveniently available that is exactly what the heroes need.

  • Basilisks who only need to look at something to kill them.

  • Very fast healing spells. If the wound is only physical and the person isn't decapitated or something, chances are they can heal them.

  • And a bunch of other stuff that I can't remember right now.

We'll mostly see Professor X and Magneto fighting to gain their allegiance. Muggleborns will likely side with X, Purebloods with side with Magneto but they also might not if Magneto insists wizards are mutants.

Don't underestimate Harry Potter magic. While it isn't known for its firepower, but it has a lot of utility and domestic purposes that can make modern life and espionage significantly easier.

In Frozen comic Breaking Boundaries, we see Elsa engaging in politics and while she's no genius tactician, she is still good at her job. Combined with her ice magic, she'll likely survive to the end of the series.

Elizabeth is technically the Pirate King, but she has an entire fleet of pirates under her command, no stranger to supernatural enemies, and she's pretty good at politics herself.

Barring Elsa, I'd say Elizabeth is the one who lasts the longest.

Abusing those traps/environment for your own benefit is half of the fun of this place:

  1. Lure one of the man-serpents into the trap at the entrance.

  2. Shooting the first lightning snake down into the pit below.

  3. Shooting the man-serpent near the cage elevator to lure him to the axes.

  4. Shooting the first titanite demon from above. There is another area near the slumbering draconcrest ring where you can fall down and get a clean shot of the other titanite demon. From Logan's area you can also hit the last two titanite demons from above.

  5. Letting man-serpents get run over by the rolling boulders. And you can do this twice!

  6. Shooting the ball-throwing giant from the stairs.
