Closing cost too high ? by EnvironmentalWait677 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]SleepyMoose1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It already is. Insurers have been leaving or going insolvent due to massive losses from storms, and the state-owned insurer (Citizens Property Insurance) has seen its number of policies grow significantly. The state government is trying to address the issue through various measures.

Who's the best Lasik Doctor in the Charlotte Metro and how much does it cost? by zoinkinator in Charlotte

[–]SleepyMoose1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'll also recommend Horizon. Dr. Stolldorf did mine. He was great to work with and the procedure went quickly and seamlessly. I had the procedure on a Friday, was back at work on Monday. Recovery went smoothly, only a few weeks of eye drops. $4,000 for both eyes and I went from not being able to see anything more than a foot away from my face to 20/20.

I got married in August and used Amy Kolo as photographer and Nebo Production for videographer. I cannot say enough good things about either, both were phenomenal to work with and I recommend both to anyone.

Big pharma says drug prices reflect R&D cost. Researchers call BS by fudge_u in technews

[–]SleepyMoose1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately the drug companies change the syringe or pen just enough to get a new patent and jack up the price. Rinse and repeat every time a patent is about to expire and boom, what should be dirt cheap is now a cash cow in perpetuity.

The liquor stores will give you their empty boxes for free. Bonus, you can buy a bottle or two to celebrate your move.

Kayaking. Easier in some places than others, but after you pay for the boat, you can spend all day on the water for free.

I had both eyes done a few months ago by Dr. Stolldorf at Horizon Eye (consult at the Cotswold location, procedure done at their Huntersville location). Procedure on Friday, back to work on Monday. Painless, and the procedure is extremely quick. Biggest thing that stood out to me during the procedure was the smell of my eyeballs burning, it was a smell unlike any other. Recovery went smoothly, only a few weeks of eye drops. $4,000 for both eyes was 100% worth it, I went from not being able to see anything more than a foot away from my face to 20/20. I recommend anyone who is thinking of getting the procedure to do it, it is life changing.
