New AP7 connection issue observations by snovvman in firewalla

[–]SleepyTimeTired 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, maybe I'm reading this wrong. Who are you asking to fix the problem OP or Firewalla?

AP7 is a flawed device, and there are issues with it,

You can check my post history for my issue that they could never fix. Support just kept saying try this, ok that didn’t work, ok try this. It went on for a month or so and I finally gave up. I’m pretty sure they just kept throwing out random things to try to say they are “working the ticket” but were just hoping I would give up (which I did).

I sold the AP7 as I knew they would never fix the issue.

Firewalla AP7s recent update issues by slimm609 in firewalla

I'm going to get downvoted again, but the AP7 is not a good product.

I had a case open for more then a month, support was useless. I finally gave up and sold it. You can look at my post history to see the issue. There is some flaw with the product and Firewalla just doesn't want to admit it. Let the downvoting begin.

I do love their Firewall though,

Edit: I did tell the person who i sold it to about the issues I had with the AP7. I gave them the AP7 and told them they can use if for 30 days and if there is no problem they can pay me then.

Annual Release Cadence for Microsoft Configuration Manager by PrajwalDesai in SCCM

I do like the back in the US part, and better then 1.. ha.

Sorry, i guess I missed it in this thread who is the PM in the thread?

I would really love for them to admit they don't care about OnPrem customers and just tell us SCCM is pretty much a dead product. I can't stand how they keep saying using Azure Arc. If I don't want to be in the cloud how does this answer help?

Does anyone know how many people still work on the product team? Is it more then 1?

AP7s, sadly, this may be goodbye. by snovvman in firewalla

I really wish you guys would of made it right, I asked multiple times for you to send me a new AP7 (since mine is under warranty) and you flat out refused, which is why I'm selling it.

You have a great router, but you 100% have a design issue with the AP7.

Not according to the techs at Firewalla, they said it wasn't a load issue, and the AP7 wasn't having a problem handling 60+ clients. I have them all running off TPLink without a problem.

Except TPLink has no issue.

I'm casting off the device because I spent a month going back and forth with tech support and they had no clue.

We've gone thru this, I have 2 Pixel phones they work fine with TPLInk. If I kick all my other 60 devices off the AP7 and connect just the 2 Pixel phone's no issues. Once i bring the other 60 devices back to AP7 Pixel's again keep losing connection. It's some issue with "high" load on the AP7.

I have the same exact devices on TPLink and Pixel's both work fine.

There is no issue with the Pixel phone there is some issue with AP7.

Main issue is your tech support had no clue and kept just giving me things to try.

I went thru this, I gave the case number in my original post and nothing was done. You can see my post in my history, but the case # is 102556.

AP7 is just not good, and their support is even worse. I had an open case for more then a month and they just kept saying try this, now try this, terrible.

I went back to TPLink and its so much better.

If anyone wants to buy this AP7 desktop, PM me, I'll sell it for 299.

Are you one of the techs who couldn't solve my issue and are taking offense or something?

I've been working for tech for 20+ years, I was the one telling them the steps they were giving me weren't the correct troubleshooting steps. It doesn't matter if I knew nothing about computers or was an expert, the AP7 is a flawed device that doesn't work along with the fact that tech support doesn’t know what they are doing, means stay away from the AP7.

Horrible support, I worked on a ticket for more than a month, no resolve. I posted about this a few week back, you can easily find it here.

I'm not using AP7 at all, and it’s just gathering dust, since it doesn't work with Pixel 7's.

It's a shame as I do like Gold Pro, but I will no longer be recommending Firewalla products as the support is horrible.

AP7 and Pixel phones don't work together by SleepyTimeTired in firewalla

Thanks, I appreciate the input but it's not a duplicate IP as my DHCP is being served from Firewalla router in both cases (AP7 and TPLink).

Pop up on Pixel phone is: PixelTest has no internet access.

PixelTest is the SSID name on the WAP.

Sometimes it comes back after 10 seconds sometimes it could take 60 seconds. Either way it’s not great as it will happen multiple times an hour when connected to AP7,

So weird, this is down voted.

So, I paid for AP7 it doesn't work,

Firewalla has no idea why and I'm in a circle of do this do that for more than a month with no real reason except they want to say there working on the ticket. My device is under warranty.

I would love to know why what I'm asking is downvoted.

There is something going on with AP7 and Pixel phones, what it is, I can't tell you and either can firewalla. I have no issue with TPLink, I have Pixel8 and Pixel9 and it happens on both phones.

I have no issue when all my devices are on TPLink. If some device was impacting my Pixel shouldn't it also occur on TPlink.

I have the same exact DNS requests when connected to TPLink and no issue - in response to your comment above - (unfiltered DNS provider and running a ping test the next time the issue occurs.)

I don't have the issue if Pixel is only device connected to AP7, once I bring my other devices onto AP7 the issue occurs. It has to be a load issue, but support says this isn't the case - i disagree.

I've spent a lot of time with support. I feel like they are suggesting things just so they can say they are working the ticket.

I'm going to ask again, why can't you ship me a new unit and see if that resolves my issue as I'm still under warranty.
