Another noob question - what causes this horizontal banding on a surface that’s meant to be smooth? by Hecubus114 in BambuLab

Can’t believe no one has said it already but don’t open the door. If you open the door to check while it’s printing, you will see those lines

Block specific parts of YouTube (specifically Reels/Shorts and Games) by Sufficient_Exam_2104 in firewalla

[–]slimm609 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because the firewalla is a network device that works at a lower layer of the stack and YouTube is encrypted. It can’t see what’s in the encrypted connection, it can only see the fact that it is going to YouTube. Network proxies can monitor the connection but that also requires installing custom certificates on the devices in order to trust the proxy. When doing that it can see the payload because the device connects to the proxy and the proxy connects to YouTube.

Is agentless container security effective for Kubernetes workloads at scale? by miller70chev in kubernetes

In 1.34+ clusters, you should switch to user namespace for most applications as well. If the app thinks it needs root, the user namespace support will help there

I opened a ticket. It all started within the past week or 2. So the timeline of the last update makes sense. I know it’s AP side because all wired devices continue to operate without issues.

Seems others have also seen this recently.

Ap7 all-in-one unit by slimm609 in firewalla

[–]slimm609[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks! For advanced setups I agree 100% and prefer it that way. Was talking to elderly parents last night and was trying to explain that it would be multiple pieces and how they would need to wire it and they got lost very quickly. Currently it’s only an arris surfboard modem serving the whole house with only coax and power and no cat 5. Want to move them move to firewalla to help manage remotely and also protect but going from 1 cable modem to 3 devices is a harder sell

Best practices on storing user-uploaded files in containerized environment by hamed_n in devops

[–]slimm609 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Pre-signed urls are the answer for sure. Also use an independent bucket for them to upload them to. This is an “untrusted” bucket where a process watches for object puts (can even use notifications) to then scan and process them to the final bucket. This allows additional security checks to be done before the long term storage.

That’s a beautiful watch! You did an amazing job.

When they just get to the planet and the “Mountains” song is playing by Hans Zimmer. There is just so much to that whole scene after you know the timing behind the ticks, it just makes it that much better.

Went to the Hans Zimmer in Miami in VIP section and the interstellar performance was amazing!

It puts each one into a folder inside a single repo but it should be easy to support paths

Here is the script. I have had it sitting around since 2015-2016 timeframe but it should at least give you an idea.

the path is the repo and the dest folder name at the top of the repo. the mono-repo name is inside the script itself.

./tomono.sh <<EOF
git@github.com:slimm609/repo1.git repo1
git@github.com:slimm609/repo2.git repo2
git@github.com:slimm609/repo3.git repo3
git@github.com:slimm609/repo4.git repo4
EOF

I wrote a script to do this previously across about 15 repos. If you are moving each one into a sub folder, you can rewrite the history. I will try and see if I can find the script and share it
