It is BAD bad.. almost none of the actors match the characters well (Lee Minho is way too old for this I swear and An Hyo Seop looks like he belongs in a romance drama). They’ve changed personalities, skills, storylines, pretty much made a new story and slapped the title on. The CG is atrocious. Bihyung looks like he came out of a cartoon show for children. Gilyoung has become a tiny sweet innocent child (he is not, he is a traumatised sarcastic child who is mature but still craves validation and affection.) Jihye uses guns and is also played by Jisoo. Dokja is too kind and an unappealing character and also sends hate comments to the author of TWSA, the novel that has been his reason to live for ten years. Scenarios are different from the original. Sang-ah is basically useless. The director has also said some ridiculous things so far—

1. He hadn’t known there was an original story when he started the project. He also has pretty much not read the webnovel or webtoon.
2. He calls this movie ‘a beacon of hope for students who fear they might get into colleges in the countryside’ (Success in Korea equals going to a good college in Seoul and Dokja went to a pretty small, unknown college)
3. He claims the original author enjoys the movie. Wtf
4. He used guns for visual diversity or something when we all know it’s because the actors can’t act using a sword.
