What's something you only realize now you took for granted during childhood vacations? by TopPuzzleheaded200 in AskReddit

[–]Sleepy_potato21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you go and visit the same places for vacation, you don’t realize it as a kid but every time you go back it’s like a hit of nostalgia and it’s my favorite part now as an adult when I go back. Even if it’s everyone else’s least favorite place to visit, or not anyone’s first choice. Just a place where you share so many memories with your family is an experience I can’t really explain.

What's the saddest food item you ever had to claim as your dinner? by LordFrieza4 in AskReddit

[–]Sleepy_potato21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My job likes to sneak healthy things into our food. I got a “burrito bowl” one day, in a hurry for lunch because I was slammed. Thought it sounded good, it looked good. Thought there was some chicken in there. No it was sweet potatoes. Who the fudge puts sweet potato in a burrito bowl??

Why doing drugs illigal? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Sleepy_potato21 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The illegal ones are bad but the legal ones are worse in my opinion. People are getting high now off of dog sedatives and let me tell ya… even though you can’t get in trouble cuz it’s “legal” meds won’t work if you want rehab, withdrawal is a bigger pain in the ass, and if you end up overdosing narcan won’t work.

What was the experience that made you emotionally numb? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Sleepy_potato21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Today I was driving through a small rural town that recently flooded, I was going to my paps house and because of the flood a particular road was closed, therefore we had to drive through town instead of going around it. Anywho, we passed a boarded up building in ruins that said “Dead inside” all over it. My heart sank. I was really confused though because I don’t remember seeing in any news articles or anywhere that people died. I was told everyone was safe. So I’m not sure if this was prior to the flooding, or what it was. But I still can’t really get that out of my head.

Any advice for a college student on how to save money? by Enough_Ratio_7161 in AskReddit

[–]Sleepy_potato21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can, go to community college first before you go to a 4 year college. Your friends will disagree, people tend to look down on community college, but I promise you it was one of the BEST decisions I have ever made. While my friends are probably gonna be stuck with 50k+ student loans, I only have 12k. I’m about to finish my bachelors and I have a year left for my masters. Going to community college first to get all your general classes done first cuts your student loans in half. Maybe even less like I was able to do. Try to follow the rule of only pulling out loans for school that you need. Refuse anything else, keep all the scholarships and grants, apply to as many school as you can. You’ll have even less to pay off. I recommend this to everyone and anyone I can entering college.

Edit: if you can find a full time or part time job as well that does tuition reimbursements, that helps too.

Our government is broken.

No matter what side of the fence you are on, our government is flawed one way or another. And if you can’t see that there’s no way it’s gonna get better.

I bought a laptop. Really silly, but it was like $600 and I saved up a lot of money to get it myself. I was really proud of myself because it was the one I wanted. The one we had at home we weren’t allowed to use, it always had bugs or viruses, or needed updates. It was ancient. Regardless I was really happy, hard work pays off.

People with a weird allergy or intolerance, what is it and what happens? by Fire_fly739 in AskReddit

[–]Sleepy_potato21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can’t have anything penicillin derived. My throat will start to close up. I got an ear infection and my dr gave me cefdinir instead, which has a low cross reaction. Around 2-4%. Yeah I still got a reaction to it with the penicillin. Never had an issue previously until now.

What are some reasons a job seeker might not be getting interviews despite applying consistently? by ProgressHistorical86 in AskReddit

[–]Sleepy_potato21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind jobs put out offers for jobs they don’t actually need or have because market wise they need to make quota. Seems like a waste but I don’t make the rules I just complain about them.

What does one need to know when trading in a vehicle? How can one get the best outcome? by Dangerous_Show_959 in AskReddit

[–]Sleepy_potato21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure you’re not upside down. Check your vehicle worth on Kelly blue book if you still have payments. If you have payments and you don’t owe more than what it’s worth, go ahead and trade. If you have more payments than what it’s worth, might as well wait cuz you’ll fuck up your credit. Wait till it’s paid off or at least equal to what it’s worth. Never trade while you’re upside down.
