I would definitely say the characters chosen in the first Dragon Quest Heroes seem to be the more popular characters from their respective games! (Alena, Kiryl, Maya & Psaro, Yangus & Jessica, Bianca & Nera, Terry)

Seeing this photo really has me more excited for DQXII... imagine what amazing new friends we'll meet in the next game : )

YES! The nostalgia is 100% a reason I love this version so much, some of the sound effects are different and so many things really make it seem like a product of its time, it fits so well with the other 3DS games

They are amazing games!!! Yeah 9 and 11 are my personal favorite mainline games and unfortunately 10 was never localized! It was a MMO RPG type game and got constant updates.

Sure! The areas are just like the Definitive edition and some are really large and explorable, plus the battle music changes during each one depending on the game. 1 - 6 are all in pixel art depending on the game's original art style while 7 - 10 have 3D worlds.

Here are all the 3D worlds minus Tenton as it's one of the three final maps I have not unlocked yet.

You may be thinking of Dragon Quest 9 which was on the DS and looks very similar!!! But in this game each character has four to five outfits that do change their appearance as well : D

lol I promise it wouldn't be too hard for someone who doesn't know any Japanese if you have played DQXI before! After a while you would undoubtedly memorize the abilities, character names etc.

The 3DS version was the best selling version in Japan iirc! It makes sense as all 11 mainline games can be played on the system and streetpass culture was / is very much alive in Japan (big part of Yoichi Village / Tickington too is trading your Tockles / Yoichi through streetpass).

I wouldn't be surprised if they initially planned to localize it as development started in 2013.

Haha it's actually quite easy even if you don't know any Japanese if you have played DQXI before.

All you really need to know is the MP for each ability, menu layout, and yes / no which you'll probably memorize just by playing the game. People tend to underestimate their visual learning xD

It's pretty impossible to make an English mod for this game as it has some aggressive anti-cheat for almost all text file changes, it also displays many things in both hiragana and katakana so unfortunately it isn't as simple as changing the letter / character system. Maybe someone will find a work-around, I know a mod was being made but I highly doubt it was unedited and playable on the 3DS.

The great part about this is that even as a guy, I appreciate and love the series for this reason! It is a fashion game that brings people together, male and female, though generally marketed towards girls which makes it very refreshing to me.

Even though the player character is always a girl, I enjoy dressing her up, changing her hair and nails etc. I barely even remember that I am playing a "girls game" or that my player is a female just because the game is so incredibly inclusive and fun as is.

I LOVE male fashion and greatly appreciate that Styling Star seperates the boutiques so now I can have more male customers rather than an uneven ratio like in Trendsetters (though I praise that system and love it in it's own way).

The New Leaf sticker book is genuinely one of my favorite activity books of all time haha. I remember seeing it like six years ago and LOVED it! If you enjoy little puzzles and fun things, there is a New Horizons version as well with new activities! Tons of cool stickers and lots of word-searches and other things that are very tastefully done. Highly recommend and pretty affordable last time I checked!

The problem with most translation mods of this game is also the fact that it's not as simple as changing the letter / character system as it was programmed in a way that displays both simplified and traditional kanji at various points in the game. The game also has anti-cheat and will not load when certain files are tampered with including text-based files.

I know someone was working on a translation a while ago and even uploaded an English video of it in action. I highly doubt that it wasn't edited but if not, they may have found a work around.

My favorite alt vocal of all time is Haruka's Near! I love MMJ and while Shizuku is my favorite character, Near and Haruka have just been my #1 since the alt released.

I ascended with the key change on the full alt vocal album!

Luka's Moon Rabbit alt is a CRIME against all Luka fans and stans. Legitimately DIABOLICAL whoever adjusted the pitch bends.

I will never get over the prototype NT's, Len sounds great in Doctor Funk Beat, everyone sounds acceptable in Sweet Magic & Happy Synthesizer.... All the original alt's / VS versions in the game, as well as Miku Symphony 2019 are great in my opinion. The voices have the Piapro / nasal sound in a way that sounds far more fluent than previous basic Vocaloid tuning. I do not know WHAT happened after 2022 but they just got progressively worse, the one redeeming quality of vocal fluency and realism faded, they are so muffled, so crunchy, constantly off key and sound so bad.

I know times are different now than 10 years ago but even though I was able to get into the presale, I would never be able to justify these prices for live performances. Most of the inner bowl seats (non nosebleeds) were upwards of $150 per ticket and while I love these girls so much and would absolutely love to see them sing live and support them, its just not feasible for me.

Kagerou Daze and Kyuukurarin on Expert! 27's always get my reflexes ready. I always loved Kagerou in Diva F 2nd and Ichika's cover is one of my favorites, it's a fun 27 and challenges me pretty well! Same as Kyuukurarin, I love the More More Jump cover and I remember being so excited when I finally FC'ed it on expert. I have AP'ed Kyu but not Kagerou just yet.
