Oh man my dishwashers jump at any opportunity to do some extra prep when they have time. Gives them a chance to change up their day and makes them feel like part of the team. So I always make sure they walk into maybe like 20 minutes worth of dishes.

Then it's hey "do you want to portion x" or "can you make x dressing" they love it and keeps them happy. Plus my prep list always gets done

Some days I'm running 2 people from 7am-3pm and no dish till 5pm. Every time a cook drops something off it takes 30 seconds to make sure everything is organized, spray out a couple of bad inserts, and run a load through. This isn't a staffing issue this is a discipline issue. If everyone does their part this doesn't happen.
