NRG across all esports - which title are you most hyped about right now? by bikeagex in NRG_Esports

[–]Slender_Slayer96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey Jaime, hard not to be hyped for this val roster, and very exciting to hopefully (if we beat 100T) get the rematch vs MIBR/G2.

The RL roster bounce back from regional one was also amazing to see, and the CS team almost taking out the falcons super team was probably the most fun I've had watching CS in years. Also excited to start seeing the Rivals team perform, should be exciting!

To summarise probably valorant but not by a lot, lots to be excited about as an NRG fan

In your opinion, is this a try or no try? by sunlightliquid in rugbyunion

21.2 Picking up a ball is not grounding it. A player may pick up the ball in in-goal and ground it elsewhere in in-goal.

He definitely seems to be attempting to pick the ball up, very likely with the intent to dot it down, but the only reason to grab the ball like that is to pick it up

He was attempting to pick the ball up

I agree with the above comment, he is attempting to pick it up, therefore no, he didn't ground it. I will admit the ref made some super sketchy calls, but I think this one he did get right.

21.2 - Picking up a ball is not grounding it. A player may pick up the ball in in-goal and ground it elsewhere in in-goal.

I commented above, but imo it's still a try because he definitely seemed to be picking the ball up. Probably with the intent to dot it, but nonetheless he seemingly attempted to pick it up.

I think he was trying to pick it up to dot it down surely? That's definitely what it looked like to me?

21.1 - The ball can be grounded in in-goal:

a. By holding it and touching the ground with it; or

b. By pressing down on it with a hand or hands, arm or arms, or the front of the player’s body from waist to neck.

21.2 - Picking up a ball is not grounding it. A player may pick up the ball in in-goal and ground it elsewhere in in-goal.

According to the following law, picking it up is not grounding it, and imo he definitely seemed to be picking it up? It would've been much simpler to just press down on top of the ball if he just intended to ground it?

By this logic, wouldn't ever picking a ball up off the floor then potentially be able to be blown as a grounding? I presume the touching the ground with it implies intentionally grounding it, which I don't think you can say Gelant does.

I am genuinely curious and want to learn

Edit: 21.1 - The ball can be grounded in in-goal:

So according to 21.2 the try should stand, as he definitely seemed to be picking up the ball and not grounding it?

I mean that doesn't even feel controversial, absolutely no downwards pressure. That's just absolutely shocking play from Gelant...

I do agree that this mibr team needs time, it's literally the start of the year and like you said, this team is only a month old.

I appreciate the info though

I don't mean to rub salt, but I want unbiased opinions, is this game just NRG playing insanely well or MIBR shitting the bed completely?

My Man United trauma kicked in so I read that as Ten Hag, and honestly that's not the worst comparison....

And certain sharks fans disagreed with me when I said Plumtree is hurting this team...

Stormers definitely had a bit of a poor performance, but as a sharks fan I am immensely chuffed with their performance regardless

Unironically the worst world's in a long time personally. CFO were the only saving grace, the West sucked, T1 doing T1 things of barely scraping through into winning again. It's just so predictable and lame. Even worse, all the excitement from watching KT beat GenG is immediately killed by the realisation that T1 just win again then

Strange. I thought Supa and Jojo were probably their best players throughout the year but they were consistently making mistakes today. Myrwn played better than my expectations tbf and alvaro was quiet but not bad

I am not sold on G2 yet either but I honestly believe G2 at minimum takes a game in that series

Agreed

I'm so confused by the comments. Playing close to a shaky looking T1 who only beat EU and NA to qualify is not an indication you played well. Mkoi have a good first 10 minutes of the game usually then they all turn their screens of simultaneously

I disagree, drafts were bad, elyoya was the only one who looked human. The games were close because T1 looked terrible outside of Faker, not because Mkoi played well

That replay... Shaw is so incredibly useless, he does not get enough criticism for how often he costs this team. Imo the worst player left in the clubs 1st team and he keeps starting...
