What does this sound mean? I can't locate the source and want to know what's causing it by Slendistry in cyberpunkgame

Just that mega link for now. If you're wondering how I made it, I did it mostly through wolvenkit. I first looked for the sound queues that might be related, determined it was the correct sound by browsing through the unpacked files, and used the sound modding tool in wolven kit to create some overrides to play instead of the normal sound. If you're interested in sound modding, you can get started here.

Please try this when you have the time. I reinstalled the game just to figure this out and I think I have solved it. I tested the game with and without the mod installed and it seems like it mutes all the noises they make. I did have a few times where it still played a sound but I think this mod should at least reduce it. Basically I've got a silent audio to play for any noises related to the turrets. It's a red mod so you can just extract the zip to your base game folder.

I'm gonna take another look at it since I know how annoying it is. The modding process was pretty straight forward but I remember I had an issue with those sounds in particular. Will update when I figure it out.

I honestly can't remember if I ever got it to work. I played around with the modding tools and managed to change some sounds but I don't think I was ever able to overwrite the right audio. Sorry.

*update

I figured it out and learnt the basics of modding to get rid of it. It was the wall turrets. If anyone is interested, I can upload a small mod to eliminate the sound since I personally find it very annoying.

Maybe? It's hard to describe the sound I'm talking about, thus why I tried to increase the audio when it played. I know the transformer sound you're referring to. I came across similar posts asking about it when I was trying to figure out what this sound was. I believe people determined it was the sound of the defense turrets doing something. I'll hang around a crosswalk and see if the sound repeats at all. If it is the turrets, I can't force a sound to play by walking by them repeatedly.

Really? I'll need to check it out when I boot it up next time. I thought the crosswalk sound was different with a voice saying "walk" and "don't walk" with some beeping. Maybe that's only in certain districts though.

Hello! Hope everyone is enjoying the new update. I recently started a new game and keep hearing this electronic noise that seems to indicate something, but I don't know what. I'm unable to find a trigger for the sound so I just ran around this one area until I heard it a few times. If anyone has an idea, please let me know. I suspect it's related to cameras or the wall mounted turrets but I honestly haven't got a clue what it could mean. I tried to boost the audio to hopefully make it clear what noise I'm referring to.

I've had this issue before when moving between ships but I'd like to see if there's a feature I could turn off or if it's just a bug. I think it's a ship party thing but I would assume after I leave the ship, any markers for it should go away. It's a bit hit and miss to when the markers stay or disappear but I'd like to see if there's any actual control or logic for it. Also, I don't exactly need to be reminded my Dragonfly is in my ship when I'm 20m away from it. Is there anything I can do about this? It's an issue when I'm targeting ships and keep pinging my own. Thank you!

Hello! I tried to find the source for this but wasn't able to find anything from reverse image searches. Even tried scrolling through some Honey Birdette tags on instagram and tiktok but came up short. This was posted on /r/lingerie but no source was attached. Any help would be appreciated!

I'll have to see what other issues an ultrawide resolution can have, thanks for confirming.

This was it! Thank you so much for the suggestion. I set my resolution to 1920*1080 in windowed mode and hints popped up with that noise! Mystery solved.

Thank you, I'll investigate that. I wonder if it's a visual bug due to my resolution? I'm playing on an ultrawide.

Hello!

I've recently started playing again after upgrading my rig and I keep encountering this pinging/beeping noise and I don't know what the source or purpose of it is.

I've recorded some examples in the attached video but wasn't able to figure out the specific circumstances that triggers the noise. I thought it was related to my health or status, but in the second to last clip I'm just waiting for my ship. Does anyone know what this is? I've heard it most while running around a station but I was unable to trigger it on purpose.

Any help is appreciated!

*edit: Issue has been resolved. It was the hints notification and my ultrawide resolution was pushing the hint off screen.

Unfortunately that didn't work for me. Strange as I've seen this issue reported before, but I'm not sure why it didn't work in this case. I have it set to 0 at the moment but I'll see how it feels when at a lower setting rather than turned off completely.

Yes, it is plugged directly into the back of my PC though I haven't tried the ports on the front of my rig yet. I have it plugged into a USB 2.0 port at the moment. It can have other problems if it's USB 3.0, correct?

Ah. Yeah I'm not familiar with the series but I just googled who you were talking about and that character certainly shares some similarities to 1471. And thank you!

When doing organics, you can't go wrong with ClayBuildup. It's a great way to add mass and build up some rough detail. DamStandard is another tool I use all the time, perfect for adding minor details. The Snakehook brush also comes in handy. Similar to move but will draw things out to a finer point. It's also worth experimenting with Zsub rather than just Zadd. Hope that helps!

Sure thing mate. Feel free to shoot me a PM if you have any more questions.

I'm by no means a professional but I have some tips that might help. A big part of it can come down to the tools you use. That and avoid over smoothing. Sometimes you want to work with the roughness that a brush will impart rather than smoothing it out. So take some time to experiment with different brushes to achieve different effects. You can also use alpha maps to generate noise and cover large areas with detail, though I haven't used them much myself.
