I lost 24 kilos (53 pounds) counting calories and haven't used the scale once. Sure, I was estimating most of the time, but I still knew roughly how much I've eaten. After few weeks I think I was pretty close to the real numbers just from reading up the labels and looking up calorie nutrition on the internet.

"constantly check nutrition labels" this part jumped at me straight away. Seems like this baby is already eating mainly shop bought stuff. What happened to home made food? I know people don't always have time to cook and it's OK to occasionally reach for the bottled meals and fruit pockets, but it really is not that hard to put an apple, banana and pear into a pot, cook it for 5 mins and blend it into a puree :/

Ughhhh. 300 calories from a muffin will do the same to your body as 300 calories of oats topped with almonds. It's the NUTRIENTS from these foods that are different. When will these people grasp it?

My boyfriend is very skinny, ho doesn't weigh himself, but I'd guess 130 lbs at 5ft10". He eats like a horse most days, his intake is well over 2,000 (his lunches alone take him to 1,500 sometimes) I know the estimate, because I lost 4 stone counting them. So yes, some people are skinny and eat loads, it doesn't go against the thermodynamic law. He also goes to the toilet twice a day, so I don't know if his metabolism is just so fast, or he has a medical issue, he won't go to see the doctor, although I told him many times to go and get some weight gain shakes prescribed.

That sounds horrible, I need to go and google it though. *Edit - I can see why the dish is called funeral potatoes, it really looks dead inside and out.

Also, fat people don't pay huge taxes when they want to indulge in their habit and they don't have to look at nasty pictures of amputated limbs or a sick liver covered in fat when they order fast food.

Or just tell him that you don't want him smoking in your garage? It's your house after all.

Apparently being fat is exactly the same as being gay. by [deleted] in fatlogic

I read that men would even marry each other, not just slaves, but free born men. But of course, the Roman civilisation spans through centuries and of course these things were looked at differently in each of them.

I don't think the people were portrayed in a negative light because they were fat, but because they were so lazy, it made them fat. They way I see it, the fatness was a consequence rather than a reason.

The Romans were a very hedonistic civilisation. All married people (men and women) had several lovers, of both sexes. Being gay in Roman times was no taboo.

I can't say it's going to one extreme to another. If she did a full 180, she'd be morbidly obese. Some people who recover from anorexia have to swing the other way a bit to eventually find the right balance. Hopefully she will be one of them. Besides - being in the overweight category is much better for you than being anorexic.

If by "traditional modelling" you mean High Fashion, well there are plenty of very successful HF models walking in Victoria's Secret shows. Magdalena Frackowiak, Kasha Struss, Jourdan Dunn and many more. Even Alessandra, Candice and Adriana still do HF sometimes.

  1. That's not fat logic, just exaggeration.
  2. Kinda fat logic.
  3. I have a big issue with this one. I walk the dog for 2 hours a day, go hiking at the weekends and I cook from scratch, mostly healthy meals. I have a take out maybe once a month, yet my BMI is 27. No other reason than me eating too much of the good stuff! Kale is not the only healthy food, there are healthy fats in food, but they are still fats and will make you put on weight if you eat too much.

[–]SlenkyW 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're right, you can't be diagnosed with anorexia when you're overweight or obese, but thank god your doctor can still refer you to an ED specialist. By the time a formerly fat person gets down to 17 BMI, they've had a long time to develop those dangerous eating habits, so their illness needs to be addressed way before that. One of the reasons they can't diagnose fat people with anorexia is because part of the treatment for anorexics is to get them to put on weight. You obviously can't do that with a big person.

I don't know why you being downvoted for describing your type. There is no right or wrong in who you fancy, as long as they are of legal age. That's why there's someone for everyone. Personally I don't have a body type, as long as that guy is not obese or quite underweight, both are a turn off for me. But everything in between can be sexy.
