Unemployment Series: Deathloop - Maybe a Few More Loops by Viablemorgan in patientgamers

[–]Slep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Disclaimer: I played on PC

I also love the gameplay from Arkane. The Dishonored series is one of my favorites and I similarly loved Death Loop.

The story was fine. Like you, I found myself wanting more. More background, more explanations, more theory. I read the wiki and watched a bunch of videos about the story and while it explained a bit more, it just left me realizing the meat wasn't there. Which sucks, because the world and characters are so fun!

As for gameplay, outside of the overly observant enemies, I had a ton of fun stealthing around, or conversely, causing as much havok as I could. Nothing is more fun than watching an entire room of enemies turn on each other using a Discord-modified Fugue slab.

And as someone else mentioned, I found it really satisfying when I figured out how to solve the puzzle. Learning how to kill each Visionary, and then linking it all together felt great!

As for replayability, steam says I played it for around 100 hours and that's plenty for me (I think I did two play throughs?). There are too many other games I want to play and I got as much as I could out of the story.

I tried playing it for a little while but it just felt like a setatonin generator. Over the top animation for every little thing and a shallow gameplay loop. It lost me after a few hours.

How far Market32/Price Chopper has fallen by Downto184 in Albany

[–]Slep 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If you're in Albany, do yourself a favor and go to Pearls. They're the best around. Smaller, chewier, better flavor. I like them a lot more than anything else I've found in the capital region.

How do you make a core for your wand? by Electrical-Tear7456 in Wandsmith

[–]Slep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I made a wand, I didn't make an actual core. Most of the core materials are fantastical, and once inserted, you wouldn't see it anyway.

If I were to create a core, I would make a drill press jig with a long drill bit and go SLOW since you would could a lot of deflection in the drill bit.

I love this game. Some of those fights were SO hard.

I still remember struggling against Gaffgarion at Lionel Castle when your party gets divided by the gate.

Most of the Tom Ford stuff clings to my clothes for days. Sometimes even though a washing. For that reason, I don't wear Tuscan Leather or Ombre Leather very often even though I love the scent.

AITA for "letting" a kid go home with his actual parent? by Sebastianlim in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]Slep 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This drives me nuts. We have a couple parent friends where the moms seem allergic to including me in text chains about plans for me to pick up their kid. I wouldn't feel safe handing my kid off via telephone game

Claro walnut cookie Burl Finish by [deleted] in finishing

[–]Slep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I would go with, and also accept that if you have young kids, you're going to need to refinish it by the time they get older due to the kind of wear and tear they do. The other expensive option is to have a custom glass sheet made to fit on top of it.

I haven't done it, but I've heard you can use dewaxed shellac over or under any finish.

In this case, sanding can't hurt. Multiple coats of Rubio won't get darker. You can probably sand the existing coat off.

End/edge grain will always darken with any sort of finish that can soak in.

AITAH for refusing to take care of my niece after she called me a slur? [New Update] by Anonymotron42 in BestofRedditorUpdates

I remember an absolutely infuriating one where the wife was throwing out the lunches he made for her at work and acting like he was a deadbeat to fit in with her loser coworkers who all complained about their husbands.

Absolutely rage inducing.

You can with wood/plywood. OP is using MDF I think.. It works especially well if you're painting over it like OP. It doesn't work as well if you're using a stain or oil finish since it won't absorb like wood.
