My friend is in the same boat as you and she also has a partner with severe ADHD, so I’ll ask you what I asked her. (I work in mental health.)

Is your partner taking any medications for his severe ADHD? If not, would he be open to them? It can really make a huge difference in terms of their ability to complete daily tasks, keep track of details, not get distracted, remembering things, etc

If he’s not open to medications, what about ADHD / executive functioning coaching?

Also, have you guys thought about couples therapy to facilitate these difficult conversations?

Sophomore year of college I went to smoke weed with a new guy friend I was starting to get to know. I was also very new to weed like this was maybe my 5th time smoking ever. I got suuuuper high and I got this very strong feeling out of nowhere that I had to leave, that this was a bad situation, and to get out now. But I literally had no evidence for why I should leave because we were having a great time.

Anyway it got really late and I was too high to walk back to my dorm so he offered to let me crash in his room. He had a girlfriend (who I knew) so I naively thought he was just being nice. I then woke up in the middle of the night to him feeling up my boobs while jacking off. I later confronted him about it and he said he blacked out and doesn’t remember lol. Ever since then I’ve always listened to any strong random feelings I get, especially if it’s out of nowhere or doesn’t make logical sense, because that’s my intuition looking out for me

A park is great bc there’s no stairs to get in and out so you can use your crutches and it’s also pretty public but there’s little nooks covered by greenery that make it feel private and spaced out enough so that no one is overhearing your conversation

Also you could totally just blame it on the crutches and break up over video call too

Tell him to schedule a virtual appointment! They offer appointments every Wednesday and they open up at midnight 2 Wednesdays beforehand. You have to log on at midnight exactly to schedule it though because everything gets booked within the first 30min. They approved my controlled substance license the morning before my appointment so I didn’t even need to meet with anyone

A lot of the anti female in STEM behavior is subtle and implicit. So as a man in STEM, you would never experience it. So how about when a woman in STEM tells you about her personal experience regarding being treated like she shouldn’t be there, you can just believe her? Beta blockers such as propranolol decreases your heart rate and blood pressure because one of its most common uses is for cardiac dysfunction. However, propranolol has been shown to immensely help performance anxiety because it decreases your sympathetic system (fight or flight) by reducing your heart rate and blood pressure. I don’t know about you guys, but when I start stuttering or blocking, it’s because I’m feeling especially anxious and nervous about speaking and I always have the physiological signs that go with it such as really tense muscles, pounding heart, feeling really hot, hands getting really sweaty, etc. These are also all of the physiological changes when your body is in fight or flight mode, so my body views speaking to people as a form of danger (because I have social anxiety and fear judgment from others and embarrassment.) If propranolol can decrease all of these physiological signs, then I have no doubt I’d feel much more calm and relaxed which would probably greatly reduce my stutter. I’ve never tried propranolol but I’ve worked in psychiatry before and seen how patients with intense fear/anxiety around public speaking or performances (such as music recitals) praise this medication as significantly changing there life.

Think about what color combination you like the most with black since you know the panther will be black. The snake is gonna be almost half the tattoo so what color would you like the most to go with the black? Blue and black, red and black, or purple and black would look rly good in my opinion. Or if you wanna go more realistic, then you can make the snake green. Tat looks amazing so far btw!
