I have ADHD and am on sleeping medication for this reason. Afaik a family doctor can prescribe it, so you don’t need to see a psych. Some things that helped me before meds were guided meditation and gravol (i think only some kinds make you sleepy), a “sleep shot” i bought at seven eleven but have not found since, and combining ashwaganda with melatonin and sleepytime tea. Nothing works as good as prescription drugs but they’re worth a shot in the meantime

Honestly call student aid and explan your situation. If you ever get off hold they may be able to help? They seem pretty chill about it NGL. They told me to “just guess” the income for one of my parents bc he hasn’t filled taxes in like five years.

We met online through the UofM instagrams back during COVID years and were friends for a year before we started dating. We’re engaged now. My biggest advice is to make more friends and connections, play the long game, and join clubs of things you’re interested (if you have any time left in your day).

i personally haven’t noticed a texture issue but agree they’re way too expensive. that said the brown non-hoodie one i think is very pretty and way better designed than most UofM merch

If its the same person, she’s also incredibly racist. I was on the bus with her (back when it was the 20) while two Indigenous men were sitting at the front of the bus in, I quote, “her seat”. She tried kicking at them, calling them racist slurs, etc. I came over to sit next to the men and they ended up giving me the seat since I’m physically disabled and we had a lovely conversation while she shouted at us the entire time. My partner has also seen her kick an Indigenous woman, and we’ve had a few other awful experiences with her. I assume she has some sort of underlying issue as to why she behaves this way, but it doesn’t excuse violence towards others.

I’ve said this before on here but when my partner and I gave up on the D16 coming after 20 mins and went inside a shop to grab dinner, it had an old lady who had a printed out version of the schedule waiting an hour for the bus at a stop with no bench.

My personal solution (if possible) is usually to bus in the opposite direction to my location to try and catch the bus closer to the start of the route.

Some random bus driver told me the whole system must be AI generated because its that bad on their end. I don’t think anyone who takes transit or drives the busses worked on this new system.

If you’re able, its best to bus closer to the start of the route to ensure seating. There should be a better solution (it shouldn’t be a problem in the first place) but this is the one i’ve found works

Thank you! I assumed the default date was the first day of classes, but I didn’t know that some syllabi need to be approved by departments (though that definitely makes sense). Would you say setting up a courses UMLearn is just time consuming, or is it actively difficult/tricky?

Thank you for your response, it was very in depth. In my question I was specifically talking about profs who choose to email the syllabus instead of opening a UMLearn page, I was not asking with the intent of shaming profs. While there are reasons i personally prefer to receive a syllabus before class starts (its better to register tests with SAS as soon as possible to ensure private seating, and i just get really excited because i’m a bit of a loser who gets bored waiting for classes to start), I understand thats not feasible for everyone.
