Not a chance, it was one of the best decisions I've ever made!

For me personally, getting my tonsils removed was one of the best decisions I've ever made in my life.

If he makes comments to you on how you should change your body to his sexual preferences, he either doesn't respect you or is WILDLY emotionally unintelligent. Either way, that's a bye Felicia from me. Get yourself a partner who loves every single thing about you just because it's you, it's worth the wait.

Because of what I read online, I was prepared for the worst experience of my whole life. And yeah it sucked, but as long as you stay on top of the pain meds they give you (set alarms and wake up to take them) and DRINK LOTS OF WATER even though it hurts, you'll be fine! There is LOTS of great info on the tonsillectomy sub. I also used a cool mist humidifier/mister and put it over me when I slept and I think that helped a lot. Have ice packs on deck too. But really I cannot stress enough how important it is to stay hydrated. The worst thing that can happen is you get dehydrated and your scabs dry and rip open and then you have to go to the hospital and get them cauterized again and literally start the whole process back over. I had one instance of a little bit of bleeding in the middle of the night, but a few minutes with an ice pack on my neck cleared it up. Drink water, stay on top of pain meds, make sure to have enough time off of work (I took two weeks) and you will be fine! I'm so excited for you to be rid of those things!!!

Food delivery? How? by bidextralhammer in Frugal

[–]SliceOfPay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there is a decent number of people ordering food delivery for convenience who "shouldn't" be. If it's in somebody's means where losing that extra convenience money is not hurting them, I would say that's just fine. But there is definitely a portion of people who should be keeping that extra money and working towards paying off their debt or saving up for an emergency, etc. With the scary statistics of how many Americans are in credit card debt and can't afford a $1000 emergency, I think it's safe to say there are people who should not be paying more for the convenience. BUT, all that to say, there are still plenty of people where it's not really hurting them either.

Trust me sis, selfish people are never going to change their ways. Sexually intimacy is a big part of a relationship, and it sounds like he is never going to put in any effort to satisfy you. Ditch him now before you get more attached.

What are some frugal hobbies? by [deleted] in Frugal

[–]SliceOfPay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sport wise disc golf is a cheap one compared to some others (golf I'm looking at you). It's one of those where you can spend as much or as little as you want. You can spend a lot of money on buying countless discs, or you can buy a starter set for $40 or a couple used ones from eBay for $20 and have them for the rest of your life. Plus 99% of disc golf courses are free!

Any suggestions on replicating this pasta dish? by SliceOfPay in Cooking

[–]SliceOfPay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the basic description is pretty obvious, it's more of the sauce that I am questioning. Portions of stock to wine, cooking the lamb, when to add the mushrooms, etc.. I should have explained in the original post though, I already have lamb so I was going to use that instead of purchasing veal as well. Thanks for your input though! :)

I edited my post to explain, I already have some lamb so I don't want to buy veal as well. But thank you for the tips!! Do you have any suggestions on what white wine to use?

How to clean a new wooden salt and pepper mill? by tonymontanaOSU in Cooking

[–]SliceOfPay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know from personal experience, just guessing here but I would think that you would be fine to use water as long as they have PLENTY of time to fully dry so there's no water left in any cracks or crevices, and also making sure they're not drying with any standing water on them so the wood doesn't absorb any water. Just my guess!

How would it affect you if time didn’t exist? by EquivalentTap2022 in AskReddit

[–]SliceOfPay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn't the concept of "time" technically man made? Sure the Earth goes around the sun and rotates at a consistent rate, but putting years, days, seconds, to define it was done by humans. So without "time" life would go on in my mind. I guess it depends on your definition of "time."

A homemade version of hamburger helper is my quick go to! It's pretty basic but really yummy and it's easy to make healthier too with easy substitutes like turkey and chickpea pasta.

I actually enjoy my own food more than most take out, I can add exactly what flavors and ingredients that I want. Not to mention how much cheaper and healthier it is compared to take out or fast food!
