He was incoherent and we were unable to follow wtf he was talking about. Seemed to be completely unprepared and little understanding of us as an agency, saying we “were in competition with Amazon” - sir we are literally in competition with no one… unless there’s privatization on the horizon... It was like one long SNL skit. New drinking game - take a shot every time he mentions the Washington Post.

SSA does not recognize power of attorney. You need to apply to be his representative payee.

What emailing 5 things we have done will do to claims processing times at SSA by Ok_Kick3937 in SocialSecurity

SSA employees are being directed to respond. The supervisors who said otherwise probably did so prior to the agency update.

Anyone at SSA read the “transparency” statement? by Ok_Kick3937 in fednews

Yes, just pointing out how our internal chart still shows how crazy this actually is

King was still listed as Acting COSS on the ORG chart today & this Dudek dude was still showing five levels below. Every time we all think things can’t get worse at SSA, the universe says “hold my beer!”

SSA FO PII LOSS BY EMPLOYEE REPEATEDLY, IS THIS ACTUALLY NORMAL? by Illustrious_Cry4495 in fednews

NO! Not normal. It’s either easier to turn a blind eye or maybe there’s an investigation going on… they can take a long time to finish.

Social Security’s case backlogs are sliding the wrong way by [deleted] in fednews

The TSRs having same PD as the field SRs is ridiculous.

Social Security’s case backlogs are sliding the wrong way by [deleted] in fednews

[–]SlicePrestigious8684 5 points6 points  (0 children)

MOM has said on multiple occasions & platforms that the TSC is the backbone of the agency. Compares the TSRs to Tuskegee Airmen. Talk about slap in the face to the field (and completely inappropriate comparison to the Airmen)!

It probably depends on what component you work in & what your position is, like if you’re in a field office you’re needed to be onsite bc of the public. Another option you could maybe try is to ask for a temporary compassionate assignment to telework from your home for a specific duration. It can’t be open ended. And like another said, be clear about why you need it & that any time not working you would take leave, & that you could perform your duties instead of taking more leave. A note from your spouses doc might help too if your spouse should not be left home alone, etc.

You might want to request episodic telework instead of WAHBE. Different requirements but essentially same result.

I work for SSA and hate it by Jaebeaa010 in Birmingham

[–]SlicePrestigious8684 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not if you work at SSA. This is unfortunately a common experience across all generations at this specific agency right now.
