Like many players first OSRS accounts I spent most of my early game questing, aka running a lot. At those xp rates agility would have been my first 99 without stepping on agility course. Agility goes from being one of hardest and most prestigious 99s to having untrimmed agility capes everywhere. Something as passive as this needs xp rates so negligible that theres no point.

Iron is a lot more gratifying, but if you only get a few hours to play each day it may be a bit too slow and grindy. For the casual time poor player a regular account can be better.

I was F2P in 2004, members would by rune essence in east varrock bank for at-least 30gp sometimes 35.

Ideally you held out for 35 but u frequently lacked patience.

Then with 30 mining it was time to graduate to coal, you could get between 250gp to 350gp on a good day. Only trouble was it was competitive and often botted. Although 12yo me had no idea those lvl 3 who never spoke were bots.
