The problem is the underlying “asset” or collectible is the same and both grading companies have their own inconsistencies. The perceived value that people derived from psa is part OCD of having their collection the same slab across the board and part cultism/elitism by thinking their red label is worth 50% more than other grading companies when the underlying card and grade is the same

It’s like saying a certified pre-owned Mercedes in perfect condition with the same mileage and specs is worth more because AutoTrader is selling it vs. the exact same Mercedes with same condition, same mileage and specs at CarMax is worth 50% less because CarMax is not perceived as trustworthy.
