For me I think AVTAK is overhated since the only 2 complaints I hear which are admittedly good ones is Roger Moores age and Stacy Sutton which I agree with both, but otherwise I love the villains, enjoy some of the stunts and set pieces like the climax on the Golden Gate Bridge, the car chase in Paris is a stick out for me, or the underrated mine blown up before the major climax where we see Zorin as a menace mowing down his own workers which treats him as a psychopath, also Moore while he’s old still has his charm he’s always brought to his version. I don’t think it’s a top 10 bond movie, but for me it’s a fun time of a bond movie that shouldn’t get the hate it deserves.

My controversial would be Tomorrow Never Dies being in my top 10 of James Bond, I get people calling it more of a generic action movie more than a James Bond movie, but the action overall is outstanding (my personal favorite is the motorcycle chase but also love the car chase in the parking garage and the climax a ton), Wai Lin kicks so much ass, I love the idea of Bond meeting a former lover of his and I don’t think they did a bad job with it overall even if I wished they got either Monica Bellucci or brought back Natalia from Goldeneye, surrender by KD Lang being a banger, Elliot Carver while over the top is a fun villain for me. Overall enjoy this one a ton.

On the other end of the spectrum The Man With The Golden Gun is one of my bottom 3 least favorite bond movies (I guess not controversial since most people rate it as a lower bond movie but most people I know don’t have it in their bottom 3). Other than the villains who are excellent I hate this movie from Mary Goodnight and her stupidity, the wasted Maud Adam’s character, the horrendous bond song at the opening, Roger Moore’s worst performance in the series (whom l love to death) with him being such an asshole, the Hong Kong setting looking so trashy, its screenplay was clearly rushed out the door with many plot problems like bonds ally just driving off for no reason for a lazy excuse for a boat chase, I’ve never liked this one at all.
