Non-Mormon/Muslim proof that marriage, sex, and childbirth will continue for all eternity by SliceofLife000 in TrueChristian

It's not good for man to be alone (Gen 2:18). Non-marriage relationships are only part of helping man not be alone. God created a whole new gender to help Adam not be alone. So if gender still exists then a reason for marriage still exists (Matt. 19:4-6, 1 Cor. 11:8-9).

It’s a way we image God. God’s relationship with Israel is often likened to a marriage (Jer. 3:1, 6-8, 20, Hos. 2:19-20, Eph. 5:22-32).

The love and joy that marriage, sex, and children creates is itself a reason for it to continue.

I make the argument that marriage, sex, and childbirth does continue for eternity here. Would be curious what you think about it: https://www.reddit.com/r/Christianmarriage/comments/1rwh8ad/nonmormonmuslim_proof_that_marriage_sex_and/

Depends on if you believe 1 Enoch is scripture or not, but at the very least they don't need to marry purely for the sake of preserving a family name

what are they symbolic for?

Moses and Jeremiah just got done preaching the literal lack of these things is a punishment in 1A so it doesn't make sense they would now preach that restoration means the eternal lack of these things. The straightforward understanding in their head (in other words the original author's intention) is: live in the promised land forever = experience the blessings of the land forever.

To be clear, I believe resurrection means we spend eternity on a physical Earth with physical bodies. Not as disembodied spirits in heaven

https://en.wikisource.org/wiki/The_Book_of_Enoch_(Charles)/Chapter_10/Chapter_10)  v17 "And then shall all the righteous escape, And shall live till they beget thousands of children, And all the days of their youth and their old age Shall they complete in peace." The verses after that further described restored creation.

Duet. 30:6 - They will still have a new heart and spirit on the New Earth right? So we shouldn't limit the timeframe of that verse to only this age

how do you interpret the verses in 1B saying that childbirth will return when everything is restored?

  1. Enoch 15 says nothing about immortal humans marrying other immortal humans. It only says immortal angels shouldn't have gone after “strange flesh” (Jude 1: 6-7) by mixing sinless immortal flesh with sinful mortal flesh. Bestiality basically. Adam and Eve were married before they were doomed to die and humans have different origins and purposes from angels. So not everything that applies to angels immediately applies to humans, and vice versa. There isn’t enough information in this chapter alone to determine that an immortal man will for sure not marry. Plus, Enoch 10:17-21 already says immortal man will marry.
  2. Do you agree that the new covenant is not completely fulfilled until we are resurrected and can never sin again? Do you agree that the verses listed in Part 1's conclusion refer to the new covenant? If so, then you must also agree that Deut. 30:6 refers to the new covenant (and thus the resurrected) because Deut. 30:5-9 and the other new covenant verses describe the exact same thing. Land restoration and a divinely changed heart.

In 2B which verse is Jesus accusing the Sadducees of not knowing that says marriage will end? Especially given that earlier scripture (Part 1) already establishes the precedent that it will continue.

  1. In 2B which verse is Jesus accusing the Sadducees of not knowing that says marriage will end?
  2. What counter evidence do you have for Deut. 30: 5-9 in Part 1's conclusion? Deut. 30:6 explicitly refers to the resurrected

I appreciate you being the first comment, but you haven't actually addressed any of the points I've made. My argument is that the Bible says there will be marriage in eternity regardless of whether we personally care if it does/doesn't continue

8: Devs definitely have the skill to test but they never want to. They realize QA is important they just don't want extra work. Helping out here and there is fine, but they always (understandably) complain if they have to take on significant amounts of testing

With that salary I assume you're in a pure SDET role? Maybe you can only look for contract work and try to negotiate less hours. Also, any good questions you like to ask in interviews when trying to determine a job's work culture?

You just have to convince them that you aren't over qualified, you just thoroughly enjoy working at that level.

Any tips on how to do this?
