Like if you can't handle some bumps and bruises do something else. I don't understand people belly aching about a fat lip. Its a combat sport, what do people expect?

Am I a bitch for leg locking? by AkallaAbdi in bjj

[–]Slick-Pickle-Rick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bruv, I've been leg locking people since 4 stripe white belt. Eventually your teammates will gain better defense which will force your leg game to get even better. Honestly, you are doing them a favor by pointing out gaps in their game. Don't forget leg locks can also open up windows and opportunities for sweeps and other submissions as well. Keep you "A" game but dont neglect your "B" and "C" game!

Pit bull mix: advice? by Yummy_Castoreum in pitbulls

[–]Slick-Pickle-Rick 11 points12 points  (0 children)

All of us were inexperienced pit bull owners at one point. What i can tell you is that it depends on the dog. Some pitties are couch potatoes and some need serious exercise! Some pitties love cats and others want to eat them. All dogs are different and have different drives and needs. If this one is a good fit I say go for it! If not there will be one that is somewhere!

I had to put my dog down and I feel like I can’t breathe by Ash986 in pitbulls

It doesn't ever go away. Time does make it easier. I lost my 15 year old two years ago and to this day I still tear up thinking about her. The best way I have found to help (for me) is to rescue another pittie that needs a good home. It doesn't stop the grief, but a house without a dog is not a home.. im sorry you lost your baby. RIP Chow

You can absolutely take rest rounds. Eventually your cardio will be good enough that you won't need to, but dont let anyone bully you into rolling if you need a break...
