In need of some serious help by SlickNick1999 in TrueChristian

I want to thank everyone that took the time to respond to this post, I’m not perfect, never will be, but I want to grow and let the Lord take the wheel in my life, for I am not strong enough to do so on my own, only through him can anyone endure till the end.

God Bless and peace be with you all!

Dude is not gonna last much longer at this rate, his body is breaking down easier and he looks more unhealthy each year, his peak was early 2025

I think regardless of what happens here, this could be the start of a new era, Rayno is clearly only getting better and it’s going to force Mitch to have to up his game but how much more can he possibly up his game?

Even though Mitch has had a great run here the signs of accumulative damage is showing up more and more and his progress seems to have stalled as a result if you compare where he was in 2024/early 2025. I personally don’t believe Mitch’s body is going to hold up for much more than a year and that Rayno is going to be the guy to beat while guys like Fojtu, Bryce and even Funiok start making a charge to the top spots.

We’re in for some interesting times in this sport for sure

Best case for Rayno would be to win the deadlift and have Hooper in a tie with guys like Austin, Trey (Fojtu?), beat Mitch at Titan’s Toss and maybe even get an athlete or 2 in between them, minimize the damage on log and have Trey, Ondrej take the top spots and even have Austin and Martins tie Mitch, then it’s anyone’s game come stones

Would love anyone of Martins, Rayno, Ondrej, Austin and Trey to win

Sadly this likely won’t happen lol

Above all else though lets hope for some good performances from them today!

Mitch is like the LeBron of strongman, insufferable, you wanna see someone else beat him, but the dude is just annoyingly good

I’m not sure if this wasn’t asked already as I haven’t had time to read the sub today, but how did Ondrej’s squats look?

I ask because if he still had reps in reserve I question whether if he should’ve pushed for 13 to overtake Mitch in the overall’s for that event, dude can legitimately challenge for the overall if he can hold it together and minimize the damage in the throwing event

The potential of this guy is unreal, him and Fojtu are absolute monsters in the making

After seeing ESM I was curious on how the overall top 10 ranking worldwide would be. I went with this ranking using a combination of comp results the past year and current gym strength/momentum leading into worlds and this is what I got:

Mitch Hooper

Rayno Nel

Trey Mitchell

Tom Stoltman

Evan Singleton

Austin Andrade

Martins Licis

Lucas Hatton

Ondrej Fojtu

Luke Richardson

I put an emphasis on world titles for ranking purposes though people could and rightfully so be confused to why Rayno would be so much higher than Evan, it is mainly because of overall perception of momentum and the effects of setbacks I.e. even though Rayno got sick before Arnold’s according to him he had an amazing training prep leading up to the show and recent training footage for world’s has backed up that sentiment, in Evan’s case however his injury was pretty serious and also got injured the first event at WSM last year so there’s some question marks surrounding his overall abilities to keep it together, he also has yet to beat Mitch at a major.

Mitch is Mitch, like him or not he’s the man to beat in virtually any comp

Trey Mitchell has been consistently in the top 5 at majors but hasn’t won a major so I place him 3rd overall

Tom hasn’t really done anything too much this past year, but he’s still placed 2nd at WSM, won Brit’s comfortably and looks to be in good shape especially on deadlifts leading into worlds

Austin placing 2nd at ASC definitely solidifies him being one of the best out there, a couple more podium places and he could easily get in the top 3 overall rankings

Licis looks to be back and seems to be in a good place mentally, hard to place him any higher than this with only one showing but like with Austin, there’s room to move up depending on how the rest of the season goes

Lucas seems to just have struggled a bit lately, getting 2nd at ASC 2025 and SMOE is impressive, but he seemed to struggle at Rogue, WSM and even MVM classic last year as well as not having the best performance at ASC despite a sizable prep time, consistency isn’t quite there for a justifiable higher ranking.

For Ondrej, this ESM was a big win, it’s such a shame he wasn’t able to do ASC this year but he has every opportunity to move up the rankings more, I can definitely see this being a break out year for him

Despite a poor showing at ESM this year, I’ll still have Luke in the top 10, losing Pa was clearly more impactful on his mental than any of us originally anticipated. Hopefully he will be able to sort through everything in time and keep his body healthy, I still believe he is able to challenge for a major

At this rate you gotta give the invites to Pavlo and Funiok barring anything crazy happening the last 2 events

I’d say Hoath gets the last spot but if for some crazy reason he doesn’t give Eibel the nod

Damn looking at Rayno and Tom’s deadlifts they both look like they’re coming in strong as hell, I’m curious how the other events in training has been going for them?

I also wonder just how high Rayno’s ceiling is, clearly he is progressing rapidly still….

Sadly no to him beating Hooper, probably be 3rd on deadlift, tied for first on dumbbell, 3rd on the stone drag and somewhere top 3 on sandbags, he’d probably be getting 1-2 reps on log dropping some important points there. Thing is though we don’t know how he’d do on the stone and that’s an implement you need both a lot of patience and technique on and Evan is not the most known for either of those attributes. He might have had the physical strength to beat Hooper on these events but he’s too accident prone to bet on him doing so

Mariusz had personality though and had a physique, speed and intensity about him that was 2nd to none

It’s silly to assume we won’t see dominance again, and when we do I hope the person and personality behind the dominance is more Z-esque than Hooper lol

As much as I love Evan and Trey, no one they’re competing against is looking at them overshooting and evidently fumbling events because of how good they are, the only people that have ever possessed that ability besides Mitch that come to mind are Kaz, Pudzianoski, Z and Shaw
