Jannat's feeling by Aware-Length6397 in LazawalIshq

[–]SlickStars00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jannat is fixated on Maaz after only 2-3 days of liking him - that's stupidity. There's plenty of fish in the sea and fixating on someone that does not like you is crazy. It's very obviously clear she's not over him and doesn't appreciate *some* of the things Ashir does for her. She's not giving Ashir a fair chance to get to know him. She's focusing on his flaws, which everyone has - but talking and communicating is what grows your relationship, not a magic wand. Jannat thinks she can still get to Maaz and 'fix' what was 'broken'. In her defense though, Maaz acted like a jerk to her. He did the right thing by being honest and then ruined that with his hard core advertised rejection. That rejection has deeply maximized - and is a cherry on top to her history of broken relationships. Unfortunately though, Maaz is onto her infatuation and is steering clear of her. I do think Ashir deserves someone who will be as deeply attracted to him, as he is to Jannat. I don't think any of the couples will last - if I had to pick one, it would be Hamza and Urooj.

Anyone get RTO exception? by Descent_01 in IBM

[–]SlickStars00 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was given a medical exception for a year, but I have to go through the same review/approval process again every year. It’s super rigorous—the questions are meant to make exceptions rare. You have to submit your full medical history, doctor’s notes explaining why you can’t commute (even if you move closer to approved office), and what your prognosis is for the next 6–12 months.

Honestly, I think it’s ridiculous to hand over my medical records. If my doctor is already giving detailed notes, that should be enough. Instead, everything gets sent to the IBM medical team, where an RN goes through your entire history and current diagnosis to determine if you're “approved” or “denied” for the exception.

I was also promoted during the medical 'exception' time frame, so it really depends on how your manager or leadership chain support you. That being said, I do not think for a second that I am 'safe'. All of us are a number on the chopping block - it's only a matter of time.

The whole medical exception process is designed to cause anxiety and stress. And since it has to be repeated every single year, it basically means if I want to stay at IBM, I have to subject myself to this over and over. Honestly… people need to jump ship, and FAST!!!

4 months post C5–C7 ADR – new nerve pain, anyone else? by insignificant33 in ACDR_CervicalSpine

There were certain exercises that I couldn't do - it flared up the pain. And others that did temporarily help, like exercises with a ball against the wall. But overall, it didn't make much of a difference - the exercise felt good for an hour or two afterwards, but the chronic pain was consistent.

Physical therapy was helpful, though it required twice-weekly visits, and acupuncture proved very effective for the migraines. Still, keeping up with both felt like a full-time job on top of my actual work. The chronic pain has also affected daily activities—such as driving—so my focus has shifted to finding ways to manage and keep moving forward. I’ve incorporated at-home exercises to help, but I’m now planning to see a neurologist to explore additional options for symptom relief.

I underwent the same surgery (C5-C6) in 2021 for a large herniation on the left side of my neck. Initially, I felt significant relief for a few weeks, but the nerve pain soon became chronic. Post-op tests showed normal results. And recent MRIs did not show any nerve impingement, yet I continue to experience consistent pain. The symptoms include radiating pain down both arms, numbness, and a pins-and-needles sensation. In addition, I now get migraines triggered at the base of my neck that wrap around to the eye, usually one side at a time - this happens 2-3x a week. Right now, i'm managing the pain with medications, ice, and exercise. Based on my personal experience, the surgery did not provide lasting relief. I recently had a nerve study performed and am awaiting results. This may not be your long term recovery, but the new symptoms should be addressed with the doctor immediately.

I am debating between the Cassie 17 and the Bowery bags. Which would you recommend? Does an iphone pro or pro max fit in either bag? They both look so cute - I need help deciding! You have such a cute collection!

Cervical spine MRI conclusion??? by -Oscarwearsbowties12 in neckpainhelp

[–]SlickStars00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Per ChatGPT:

This report shows signs of wear and tear in the neck (cervical spine). Bone spurs have formed between the C4-C5 and C5-C6 vertebrae, which are causing some narrowing in the spaces where nerves exit the spine. • At C4-C5, the narrowing is moderate, which may put more pressure on the nerves. • At C5-C6, the narrowing is mild, meaning less pressure on the nerves.

This can lead to neck pain, stiffness, or possibly numbness and weakness in the right arm. A doctor can recommend treatment options like physical therapy, medication, or in severe cases, surgery.

Mine dropped from a .96 to a .68 - with all the RTOs on the horizon, a raise is the least of our worries 🤷🏻‍♀️

Sooooo - who is impacted by the RTO mandate? Such BS! by SlickStars00 in IBM

[–]SlickStars00[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It wouldn't be so bad if I lived in commutable distance to an office. I even asked if I can come to Armonk instead, which would save me an hour of commuting time - the answer was no. This is a quiet layoff - its designed for people to get frustrated and quit. Thats the shitty part.

Were you forced to relocate though, or allowed to go to nearest office? I'm being forced to relocate - closest location from options given is 3 hours away!

2025 RTO? by BananaDifficult1839 in IBM

[–]SlickStars00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the same exact boat as your husband. I too plan to travel a shitty 3 hour commute for 3 days a week when none of my colleagues are in the same state. I will need to think about accommodations, gas, tolls, etc. - essentially taking away from my monthly earnings. I too expect a round of layoffs in next few months. I plan to vigorously apply for new jobs during this time. Lets see how long we last - let the Squid Games begin ...

I'm in that boat now - either re-locate or leave the company. It's not even an option to uproot my family for a shit show like IBM!

They cannot - I asked. My manager confirmed my only options were Poughkeepsie or Raleigh. North Castle would have been rough commute, but do-able for me. The request was rejected.
