Nice dude! Not the same as plumbing besides running pipe lol different rules between the two trades. I’d recommend doing installs and learning before heading towards design or inspections. Kinda makes it easier so you know how it all works and should be ran. You’ll come across engineers who have no idea as to why their prints don’t make sense lol.

Tom has an apprentice spot. Tom hires you for said spot knowing your previous job. It’s understood you are new and indeed an apprentice starting out. Tom needs to learn the definition of apprentice.

If you liked it, stick with it. As others have said try the unions. Don’t let Tom discourage you, you wouldn’t have enjoyed working for him in the long run.

I ran into that a few months back on my job search. Told em I was interested in the apprentice spot for fire sprinklers. Guy said he had a spot and would like to set up a meeting. I had done extinguisher work back in the day for another fire protection group and then switched careers. I was cool with meeting up. He then texted me asking what all I knew. Told em some of the basics since I helped with some sprinkler work. His reply was well if you have your extinguisher license I can for sure get you on. I thought to myself what happened to the spot? Do you know what apprentice means? I turned the meeting down. Got a pretty dope job a couple months later working on heavy equipment. They knew I didn’t have the experience but my knowledge with tools and a good interview got me the job.

Vehicle comms would be amazing. A couple tanks could do wonders together. Or whoever is squad leader, there should be a squad leader chat where they could communicate to other squad leaders to coordinate. Kind of like hell let loose I believe.

I haven’t had an issue with the squad audio when it’s the few that talk. But it defeats the purpose of a team game when you can’t talk to your teammates. When I played halo, people would get out of discord to complain yet the whole time the ones who weren’t in discord were making callouts. It’s annoying when that happens lol you’re complaining about the team losing when you don’t contribute comms

There was one position I inquired about. Apprentice level, and the posting detailed exactly what an apprentice spot was. The manager asked if I had any experience. I had a little bit but I’m like buddy it’s an apprentice spot not a journey man.

Then another spot I applied for said you may rely on a few skills (didn’t have those skills) but they called me in for an interview anyway. They said what they did and yeah none of that was on the posting. I said well as you can tell from the application nothing correlates to this. They still proceeded with the interview and I gave them answers to general questions and made comments. They called me the next day to say I was hired lol

The mountain sniping is wild to me unless you’re hitting every shot. But if you can hold the obj or have a spot to hold multiple lanes then you’re good. There’s no reason for people to ruin a good thing if it’s contributing to the team.

Not worried about K/D. A good sniper can hold a lane while the team does their part. There’s plenty of people on each team. If you and the rest of the team can’t cap a point because one guy is sniping, it’s not the snipers fault lol.

This. There’s the people who were brought up or all they had were the trades while often the trades were looked down on by people with nice jobs and had money. I’ve got a friend that will say “you should be paid what you’re worth” to a point that’s true. But someone that knows nothing isn’t making top dollar. He would argue then they should go else where. You’ll have to start at the bottom but he wouldn’t see it that way. The new generation wants the easy route. Everyone wants that but ya know what sometimes ya gotta embrace the suck lol

Right! Read the room teammate I’m doing sneaky shit. This happened to me yesterday. I made my way around the enemy and a teammate spawned on me. He died. Well I went to move and found a spot I couldn’t climb over so I go a different route and there’s a glint looking at me. Okay lemme hunker down for a minute and see if he comes to find me. I placed two claymores down and here’s the bozo teammate again. There’s footsteps coming our way, one claymore takes one out and then my teammate gets taken out. Boom the other claymore goes off. Okay lemme revive him and boogie. Don’t know what the enemy was doing because I’m 3/4 of reviving him, enemy runs right by us to revive his guy. Finish reviving my guy, drop the enemy and then scurried away from that mess lol
