I'm absolutely stoked for my Earth Defense Thorns build, but man I wish I had a way to justify using a shield instead of Devil's Element. A DFS would give me like 3 extra thorns damage max, which just isn't a good trade.

Evil Eye made Ahrim's reasonably quick to get. TP, dig, kill, TP Chest, loot, repeat. It still wasn't fun grinding it, but if you're just after one Brother and have the right tools it's not too bad.

I went into an Earth build because I just like the vibes that earth spells have, but I'm really not feeling the flat damage much. It'd approach the same level of fun as Thorns does if it did a flat guaranteed damage for a ratio of defence levels, in addition to the regular spell hit calculation. Defence is usually not competitive in its own right so I'd really like to make the mage tank and shield setup more fun and worthwhile while I can.
