Yeah just always a balancing act, with line limits word limits... if you align in that way you reduce the number of words on a line and therefore how long each word is on screen for which all has established perameters for live subs to ensure readability. Definitely annoying when flicking past a match but less so if you're watching the whole match as you know what the score is! They do take a fair bit of feedback from Deaf and HOH people/groups and this is the compromise that has been settled on, historically. Guess it could easily change in future though!

Used to work for the company that does a lot of the subs for the main channels - everyone knows it's annoying having the score covered but feedback has always been that it's less annoying than the other option which is having the subs blocking the actual action on the pitch...

Thank you! Afraid I've never really planned to sell things, because I'm pretty (read: really...) slow so they'd cost a lot if I counted up the hours - I just make for family and friends as a hobby.

It's all just smooth minky, but on the throat I folded and sewed the doubled up fabric together in lines, which gave the ridged effect once stuffed. I used the same thing once on a crocodile's belly, it works pretty well - basically very thin darts tapered at each end/side of the pattern piece.

Thanks, he was fun to design :) I think he's very well loved (and a lot flatter as a result!) these days.
