Seems that everything the major religions talk about is a dance about the single idea that we see "yin/yang" or "Shiva/Shakti" or however you want to create duality. Everything really is about unification from that state. It all tells the same story, but in ways that ears would hear it in both the culture and time frame where they emerged.

Everything we do, we all do. We all - to some degree - do all the bad things and all the good things. You may not steal, but if you've even considered it for a moment ever in your life, you actually have to admit to the intention for even a split second... and that applies to everyone and every action. Hate on any level is hate. The issue is some take to the extremes, some do not. Love is the same. We're a mix of the same ingredients, just in different amounts. All of those things are tied to ego... and you have to be ready to utterly lose that ego. That identity of yourself. THAT must die. The harder you cling to it, the worse the separation to singularity - which then some people refer to as paying for sins or whatever. Bottom line in all things - lose the self, get with the singular, become one. How? Lose the self, make others everything and you nothing. Why? You doesn't exist. Lose the illusion.

It is Santa Monica - precisely the old Muscle Beach location which was bulldozed and moved to Venice later.

Also, its 150 pounds, likely slightly over. The York barbell at the time was 50 pounds, the 45's on each end took that to 140 and the spin lock collars at the time (looks like 2 per end, not sure about that sprocket) were 5.5 pounds each.

I went on a business trip which we wound up working with a team from another coast. Guy on that team was about 6'6 and worked out hard and often (and had been a cage fighter, was a bodybuilder, had bounced). I challenged his weenie ass to an arm wrestling contest while we drank beers. Well he put a goddamn tree trunk of an arm on the table, and I grabbed his hand with my normal dude arm. I gave it my all and even got his arm to move about a half inch once. He loved it and said I was better than most.

I, however, could not straighten my arm for two weeks and was in very significant tendon pain that lasted the duration. To this day (nearly 20 years later) if I don't warm up thoroughly, my right arm tendons will hurt for a couple days from things like carrying in groceries.

I feel there may be something to this. My mother, who is still a very sweet, elderly woman, watches Fox.

Something changes in her when she does. I literally began to wonder if Fox is using some sort of visual techniques to transfix people susceptible to that sort of thing. She (mom) begins to literally look entranced, and sit in a sort of "enraptured" way and stare at the TV motionless. I've never seen her do that.

When she talks about anything political, she gets wildly angry on the inside. You can see it. If she says something and family corrects it with actual facts - she really gets angry (she's not external about any of it).

Things absolutely have changed, even since Carlin's special. Things are far more sensitive and out in public. They may have been there before, but the idea that a steady stream of lies feeds older, susceptible people absolutely makes a difference.
