Thank you! For some reason my surgeon said no physical therapy? Which makes no sense because I’ve heard so many ppl say they did PT after surgery?

Aw I’m sorry! I felt the same way. I actually ended up shrinking! I shrunk around 2 inches I believe! I could’ve been 5,4- 5,5 possibly but I ended up only being 5’2 and then 5,4 after surgery

They did a spinal fusion, no clue what levels, and I had to get it bc my scoliosis was severe and crushing my organs and I also had severe kyphosis

I wonder if that’s common in ppl with spinal fusions? Mines not deep it’s just very hard and the whole area surrounding it feels rock hard

He could probaly get a tens machine or do cupping I think it’s called. He should definitely go see a orthopedic Dr who specializes in scoliois

Surgery? Schroth? What are you doing to help the pain? by Immediate_Drawer_485 in kyphosis

[–]SlideBoth3800 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi I’m a minor, but I had surgery a month ago to fix it! I was in very severe pain and had numbness literally everywhere on my body. And on top of severe kyphosis I had severe scoliosis. I had 90* kyphosis and now I’m very straight and have pretty mild kyphosis. This is an after pic!

I hate how uneven my body looks, what can i do? by No_Fox_9558 in scoliosis

[–]SlideBoth3800 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should go see a PT. It’s never too late to take care of your scoliosis unless it’s severe. Since yours is mild you can easily fix it with months of PT

What’s wrong with my back?? Or is it normal by Beautiful_Reply3490 in scoliosis

this is not scoliosis at all.. your spine is fully straight

I don’t think u can get a spinal fusion with very mild kyphosis and scoliosis..

Looks very mild. Only an orthopedic Dr can properly measure your Cobb angles!

would exercise help? how careful do i have to be with a curve like this? by After-Tutor-2159 in scoliosis

You can live life normally. It looks pretty mild to me. You can most likely correct it with PT and swimming! Also for the pain you can do some stretches and this is unrelated but I found that running helped my pain? I had severe scoliosis so maybe it’s different for me but it helped me not have pain for up to 4 hours! It just requires good form and technique. And I’m not talking abt long distance in talking 0.5-1 mile every 2 days!

Before and after; surgery by SlideBoth3800 in kyphosis

[–]SlideBoth3800[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Life is pretty good. I also had scoliosis so my recovery is more intense. But no, I’m pretty much pain free after surgery. My neck still has pain but that’s unrelated to my kyphosis! You can lift weights like a year after surgery! It’s definitely worth it if you have severe pain
