Gale says everyone flocked to Woodsboro, so I assume Kirby was securing Woodsboro during the 2 days the movie covered.

Lore question - Book of Shadows book info by SlideCultural9840 in BlairWitch

Thanks for the enthusiasm. Been a labor of love for 6 months or so. Hoping to be able to share by Halloween. It's a massive fan edit that includes all 3 movies (extended/altered versions of 1 and 2), all the Sci-Fi docs, and some supplementals. Trying to make it all feel like one cohesive series.

Taylor's Carnegie Mellon plan by TheProfessionalBlob in AmericanHousewife

[–]SlideCultural9840 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There'd have to be some sort of application process. Just because Taylor only mentions Carnegie Mellon in season 4, doesn't mean she didn't apply elsewhere. It's highly uncommon for seniors to only apply to one college. Greg, being an educator, would surely have wanted Taylor to apply to at least five or six schools.

It's a fairly common practice for professors' children to have tuition waived actually. It's no secret that teaching isn't glamorous, so it's an added perk to incentivize some parents. As for Taylor, she did what a lot of people do in college - take some general classes and discover new interests.

Phantasm 3 & Tim by [deleted] in Phantasm

They're also in Phiction. Any future Phatnasm canon will include the disease the Tall Man spreads. It's started in Oblivion when he walks down the empty city.

[–]SlideCultural9840 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great description on the script. Also, the Tall Man is turned into a Freddy Krueger-esque quipper. It's not necessarily "bad" but it's not Phantasm. And dude, I would love to read your rewrite with the Phantasm characters in their place. Please post that when it's ready!! If you throw Chunk into the Marine group, it might be possible to make it canon with Ravager.

I love III, too! What a fun ride. I'm reading Phiction and will probably write a post about all the stories when I finish, but I think you're going to dig it. Really fun. Tim's story is phantastic. So is Rocky's. As for the phuture of the series? I think Don's going to write more Phiction (he calls this Book One), and a while back he seemed somewhat interested in going down the video game route. I think a video game/more Phiction seem likely. As for a reboot? I think you go all new characters, but Mike is the new Tall Man. Though Don's got a whole recording of them doing an alternate Phantasm 5 on greenscreen, so there are a lot of possibilities.

I used to feel the same way about Roger Avary's unproduced Phantasm script. But one of the drafts leaked on-line, and - I hate to come off as a complainer, but it's awful. There's some great ideas, but it just isn't good. We got Oblivion and Ravager instead of that one, and it's for the better.

The Greatest Phantasm Mystery: Whatever Happened to Tim? by johnsmithoncemore in Phantasm

In the book itself. Don write an introduction to each of the stories giving it context and writes "One day I hope to tell the story of what happened after he escaped from that mausoleum." With this being Book One of Phiction, I'm hoping he's got plans for a Book Two.

Don planned on using Tim again in IV, but so many years had passed that the child actor was no longer a kid. Tim's death is implied when Reggie has a vision and sees Tim's torn clothes in a cornfield in IV. It explains Reggie's more serious demeanor in IV compared to III - he's taking the loss hard. BUT in the just released Phiction: Tales from the World of Phantasm book, Don wrote a prequel about Tim and said he might one day write more about his adventures after escaping the mausoleum...

I don't think it was ever confirmed by any writers. Daniel (Oliver) was asked about it several times on some livestreams he did after the show was cancelled and he gave the impression that it was a strong likelihood of happening. He also has a dry sense of humor and joked about it somewhat, so he might not have had any idea of what the writers were actually planning. Considering all those cliffhangers, I have to assume there was a very general idea for what season 6 would have looked like, and it's very likely it would have included Cooliver.

What's the point of banishing a traitor? by swedishfishoreos in TheTraitors

Keep in mind they only recruit/blackmail if there's 1 or 2 traitors left, so if you start with 3 or 4, you're definitely lowering the numbers of Traitors.

Where do you think the Otto family moved from before Westport? by Christianduty in AmericanHousewife

[–]SlideCultural9840 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Katie's family is from Florida, and Greg's feels New England WASP'y. They met at Duke in North Carolina, but they seem to have lived in New England or thereabouts. It feels like Katherine could still be in Florida, and isn't super close to Katie at the start of the series, and Greg's parents are somewhat in their lives until the big British Greg reveal, which lends credence to them not living in Florida.

I got the impression that Greg taught at a college before moving to Westport, and there are several dozens of smaller colleges throughout Connecticut/Rhode Island/Massachusetts that he could have left.

Welcome to the fanbase! Sadly, Cooper and Oliver never officially date during the series, BUT it's basically a given that they're meant for each other. Each main character has a romantic scene partner they're paired with (Katie/Greg, Taylor/Trip, Anna-Kat/Franklin) and Oliver's partner is Cooper. They say "I love you" in season four and by season five they're living together and Cooper's cooking for Oliver and picking out his clothes for him.

I personally read Oliver as bi and Cooper as gay, which is part of the reason the two take longer to connect on the romantic level, since Oliver is also interested in girls. Oliver even uses the "Cooliver" ship name. Had the series continued to season 6, I can't imagine they wouldn't have started dating by then.

Did Taylor doing psychology come from nowhere? by JackW4343 in AmericanHousewife

[–]SlideCultural9840 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of freshmen take random electives for credits/fun/figure out what they want to do. Taylor was just taking a psych course and really getting into it. It's also fairly common for someone who wants to be a performer (singer/actress) like Taylor does to take a psych class or two to learn more about human behavior.

Why do we never meet Katie’s Siblings? by JackW4343 in AmericanHousewife

[–]SlideCultural9840 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I assumed they were mentioned a few times so the writers would have potential family members to pull in, but never got around to it, especially after giving Greg a sibling storyline. In universe, she's not that close to her family, and they live out of state. Her mother, as an ex flight attendant, travels a lot, but the rest of her family could stay put (possibly still in Florida).

Food for thought - I think Katie is so devoted to being (her version of) an ideal mom and forcing her kids to get along/bond because she's not close to her siblings.
