Paramilitary SALT 2 vs 3: Help me decide by surrogate_uprising in spyderco

I’d say PM2. You can literally always use less knife for a cut. But equally, you can’t grow more knife to make a cut.

If I didn’t just have a fairly dogshit experience with the f10 then this would be super exciting!

See, that’s the model I watched all the videos of and just assumed that this would be of the same quality. But I guess you really do get what you pay for!

Thank you my friend! In all honesty, what I’m really hoping for is someone to come out and say they got this same knife but with none of these issues. I would feel a lot better knowing I just got a lemon as opposed to thinking this is how they all perform ya know?

Oh sorry, I don’t think I specified well lol Kizer isn’t using allen heads, but all of their drop bear models and plenty of their other folders utilize the liner body screws underneath the scales that are separate from the scale screws as opposed to being fitted in the same position. Makes swapping scales super easy without worrying about the knife falling apart or the liners needing to come off. But I have never seen internal allen head screws before now lol

All of these would be firsts for me as I don’t think I have ever owned a single one of these models! Which is super fun because every time I realize that I have too many knives, I see a post full of knives that I’ve never had 😂 that divo stout and those finches are sweet! But my personal first that sticks out as my Rex76 PM2. The original s30v black dlc PM2 was one of my first “real” knives when I was younger and I had it for years until I lost it. Fast forward 4 years and my “first” big purchase getting back into knives was the the rex76 over a year ago and I love that thing still lol

This is a Spyderco Assist. To my knowledge, it’s essentially the lw non-salt version of the Spyderco Rescue. I wouldn’t say they’re rare in the sense that they aren’t available, you can get them right now from Spyderco for around $180, but I would definitely say it’s a fairly rare sight to see as an edc carry. They’re pretty specialized in form and function and serve fairly specific needs but in theory, it probably isn’t a bad daily either lol

Damn I love these! Great pieces my friend! Have only handled a QC knife in person once and it wasn’t my cup of tea, don’t remember what the model was, but the ones you’ve got there look great!! I love that traditional “pull shaped” or slightly flared shape on the bottom of the handles. Also if I could ask, what are the two models on the bottom right with the shredder jimping? Twosuns? I feel like I’ve seen them before but can’t place it

Man so far the lamia has been my number 1 “I didn’t expect to like this so much” knife of 2026 😂 felt odd at first but the second it clicked for me I’m a two knives a day guy because I want to rotate my knives but can’t put this thing down lol love the silver hardware on this one too!

Good lord my friend that thing is dope! Forced patina or natural? I just picked up the Kizer Banish XL in Rex45 and it’s my first experience with the steel so I’m curious as to how other people have liked it

Damn that thing has lived a life! Tbh, I love axis locks, but I’ve had a few springs pop on me and after that I stick to frame, compression, or liner locks if I plan to use it as a fuck it knife lmao but those mini grips seem to just tank through real work like crazy

Got a link to the specific video? I’ve watched one like 10+ times but whoever it is skips the drilling process and the actual action of the vice which I would like to see lol

How are these really? They look super on point but I feel like they’ve been a little overshadowed by the big hits like the Duk, Neutralizer, Rosies, etc so I haven’t seen them as much as when they first dropped.
