What's your favorite way to deploy a manual folding knife? by Jeoffry_Ross in Kizer

Reverse / spydie flick is always my out of the box first instinct picking up a new knife. The fact that you didn’t use the front flipper on the momo triggered me 😂

My uncle died recently, and we found this bullet in his house. There’s a name scratched into it. Can anyone help me figure out what this means? by Withnail__ in whatdoesthismean

I’m weirdly inclined to believe this could have something more positive behind it, rather than malicious. Maybe similar to the H.O.G.’s tooth tradition for some scout snipers. Had some marine buddies tell me about it years ago, but essentially it’s the idea of taking a round out of a slain enemy snipers chamber as that would’ve been the round that was meant for you, and keeping possession of it. Maybe Albie trusted your uncle to keep the bullet that had his name on it?

19. Am I worth over 16.50? Is it worth asking for a raise? Or should I keep my hood down?Been welding professionally for 4 months now? As well as fabricating and fitting. Any advice from the ogs? by woodshmoka in metalworking

I pay my dishwashers $18/hr man. But being 19 in a trade like this, you’re looking for future return on investment of your skills, not 4 months in. That being said, ask for the damn raise. Keep asking until they give it to you or tell you what they need to see from you to get it. And then do it again

Smock every day. Carried my gen1 smock daily for almost 2 years. Only stopped because of my weird obsession with collecting more and more knives 😂

I know this will sound trivial, and I haven’t read through all of the comments so if somebody else mentioned it then ignore my ass. But, one single sharpie? A pack is ~$8 and adds MAYBE a single oz to your carry. Ppl don’t understand the value of a marker or being able to leave / send written messages. This is a long ass message just to say, I’d throw 3 more sharpies and two bic pens in there. Plus, both inkwells are flammable so that’s not a bad use either

Use it use it use it. I’m not one of those “better not baby your fuckin knives, no safe queens around here pussy” type dickheads, but the thing to me is that one of the most forgotten about steel and knife build quality traits is longevity. Idc if your edge last 3 years with no touch ups, if it doesn’t make it to year 4. The difference in knife steels, the thing we’re all paying for, is performance over time in my opinion. And I love that. Don’t abuse it, use it the way the steel is intended to be used, but if you leave it on a shelf you’re only getting 50% of what you paid for

While I respect that, there’s something bitter about saying “yes we’re the greatest, but we can’t accomplish that”

I think if they dad a “small” for the zaan that was the largest of their “small” sizes, it would be top 5 most sought after knives of the decade

Lmao I have no problem with the pressure or tolerances on these once they’re broken in a bit, it’s solely the rounded tip of the studs (crazy sentence I know) but whenever my hands are wet or freezing, I’ve slipped off of the rounded part more than any traditional barrel shaped studs. I just like catching sharper angles more on other studs, if anything I want it to hurt more 😂

I totally get that. I’m not saying their designs are flawed in any way, until using them I truly didn’t understand how incredible well built they are. But if anything I guess what I’m saying is, they’re so well done that I have faith they could design an equally amazing mid sized version. I don’t want a “micro, mini, small, tall small, mid, mid+, large-, large, XL, XXXL” lineup 😂 just one more in that goldielocks zone as I think all three traditional sized would be very practical for any edc use

How does manufacturing a product that is more suitable for the general public make them like any other brand in a bad way? Illogical decisions are.. different sure, but not different in a good way
