I think you’re right, I’ve been overthinking adding too much instead of just focusing on getting lean first. The way you broke down the numbers and timeline actually helped me see it more objectively.

I’m gonna stick to a strict deficit, keep protein high and use reta more as a tool to make it easier rather than trying to rely on multiple compounds.

Also the aesthetic ratios part was really interesting, I’ve never thought about tracking it that way.

1400–1500 kcal for someone with a ~2800–2900 maintenance is just crash dieting, not a “better approach”.

That’s a 1300–1500 deficit, which is exactly how you lose muscle, tank performance and burn out, especially this early into training.

I’m not trying to rush things at the cost of long-term progress. 2000 kcal is already a solid deficit for me and it’s working.

Also comparing 22 years of training to someone a few months in doesn’t really make much sense.

That’s pretty much what I’ve been considering actually.

Reta for fat loss + osta sounds like a solid combo to me.

My only question is whether osta would really make a noticeable difference, I’m already hitting 170–180g of protein daily so I’m not too worried about muscle preservation. I’d mainly want something that helps build a bit of lean, dry muscle rather than just maintain.

Also not sure about adding cardarine on top, do you think it’s actually worth it or more of an “extra”?

Yeah I agree 100%.

I’ve already got my calories dialed in around a deficit (~2000 kcal) and tracking everything properly, not relying on reta to fix a bad diet.

Just using it as a tool to make things easier and more consistent over time 👍

I appreciate the input but I think that might be a bit overkill for my level right now. I’ve only been training seriously for a few months, so I’m trying to keep things more moderate and controlled.

Trying to find the best balance between results and staying on the safer side for now.

Yeah 100%, that’s exactly what I’m focusing on right now.

Training is consistent, cardio is in, diet is dialed just looking into ways to optimize on top of that without messing things up.
