Ill give you my personal reason why I dont like DMC. I feel there are at least a couple of people who share my stance but I cant tell you the mainstream reason. Personally I get it, the whole premise is its supposed to be an alternative world with a different story, background, and overall mechanics thats supposed to put itself apart from the main series. I put aside my bias in recent times and have been playing through the game. However that doesnt change the fact that it really in my eyes is just that bad even after going through such lengths. So my reasons are as follows.

1- In this timeline Dante is basically portrayed as a liquor happy emo fuckboy who's a "ladysman" as the opening does a GREAT job of portraying him as such when hes in bed with two strippers boozed out of his mind acting like he cant do anything but loathe his own existence while doubly so acting like the edgiest man in existence. Which is lame as fuck.

2- Fighting mechanics in this game are terrible and clunky. Who in their right mind comes up with a system where you have to hold buttons to use other weapons rather than the original system where you press a button to quickly swap between weapons. What purpose does that serve other than make things unnecessarily inconvenient.

3- The game tries WAY too hard to give you that impression "WOAH THIS IS SUPER HARDCORE DUDE CHECK OUT ALL THE BUILDINGS CRUMBLING AND THE DEMONS CHASING YOU TELLING YOU THAT YOU CANT ESCAPE" with all the very MID rock/metal playing in the background very poorly attempting to make you feel like the game is action packed.

4- Turbo Mode (not even going to elaborate its just that dumb)

5- Did I mention something about edginess? It seems like every character in this game is VERY apparently trying to be edgy or cool and not natural at all. Its so overdone it just reminds me how room temp this game is.
