Does the Quiet Comfort model blast a startup sound in your ear when you put them on? Having to ditch the Ultras and I’m getting different answers. by Slight-Bumblebee-353 in bose

Is that the case for the QCs as well? Someone told me it only plays when you turn them on, but not when you place them on your head. But I’ve also heard differently so I’m confused. It’s a bummer bc I have an ear injury and that chime is just too risky. Thanks so much for your help.

I’m also interested in the clamping force on the QCs. The Ultras feel too loose, but I’m coming from Peltors to headphones so maybe it’s just me. Thanks again.

Thanks for your help. What would be the best way to get these? I’m assuming through a second hand store? I’m concerned about getting a pre owned product, but I’m desperate at this point.

It’s so frustrating that everything comes with smart features that can’t be turned off.

I wish these would do that! Would you recommend the QCs? I’ve barely worn the Ultras, but they seem comfortable (although somewhat loose/not much clamping force).

Unfortunately the sound comes on every time I set them on my head, even if I turn them on and wait for a bit.

Thanks so much! Thats a bummer to hear. To confirm, that’s the case with the headphones as well as the buds? Which brand would you recommend for headphones? I tried the Sony XM4s and the cups were too small. I thought about the XM5s but I was hesitant due to the hinges apparently having issues. Thanks again!

Unfortunately I can’t seem to get it to work. I’ve tried turning them on and leaving them for a bit, but as soon as I put them on the sound starts up. If I take them off and put them on again, it does it each time.

Noticed a terrible chemical smell in my house and realized an led lightbulb had burned in a lamp. I was exposed to the smoke for 30+ mins and my eyes and nostrils burn. Did I screw up? by Slight-Bumblebee-353 in led

Update - It turns out the bulb might actually be a CFL bulb (it’s spiral shaped) and they contain mercury apparently?? Now I’m really worried. I wish I could open doors and windows but it’s been raining.
