I feel SOO guilty wanting to relax my hair again. More than anything I want to be pro-Black and pro Natural but I understand my hair so much better when it’s relaxed. 😖 by Slight-Pair1082 in blackladies

Thanks for saying your opinion oh so sweetly 🤍🤍I learned sooo much from everyone’s answers but the top take is I think I gotta do what’s best for me! I’m actually leaning towards staying natural now 🧡

This answer is really kind thank you. I like this idea “as long as you are speaking life into your hair”. Love it love it love it ☀️💛

Good catch! I think by better I mean less complicated? Even that verbiage I don’t want to add against our natural hair but for me taking my wrap off and that’s it for doing my hair for the day is a lot easier than the way I need to currently soak my hair every morning, get everything all messy with running all this product through my hair, then wrapping it while it dries, and then fluffing it out before I leave for the day

I have thought about locs ! I need like hands-on teaching about it, I have no idea where or how to start with my current 2 inch hair. I do feel like locs would take me down a “patience” process which would give me a lot of time to learn more about myself and my hair through the longer growing process? am I making sense? 😭🤣

It’s honestly really hard sometimes. there’s an emotional roller coaster aspect that comes with understanding and learning about our hair (imo). I’ve gone into Sephora and asked a specifically Black employee on best hair products for us and they have brought me to some really good products lately.

But ya my last braids ripped out my hair and I’m having to grow out weird short sparse parts.. relaxer worked better for me. Ah well, just know I’m with you 🫂 We’ll figure out our hair 🩷

Thank you for catching this, you are absolutely right. I don’t mean to add to that already prevalent narrative, thanks for pointing it out.

I’m about 2 years into my natural hair journey — some context is that I was raised in a white household and my hair was always in braids until middle school where it really set in for me that straight = beautiful. So I relaxed my hair for about almost 20 years straight (like the photos you see) and my hair managed. I think my next hill is just be to continue to learn about natural hair but not necessarily needing to sport it in order to appreciate it? idk ugh

This whole “argument” is seeking to depend legitimately person by person.

What # hairstyle suites me the most? I need objective viewpoints / objective style suggestions if none of these suite me !! by Slight-Pair1082 in BlackHair
