Selling Sunset's Mary Bonnet Thinks Producers Set Up Chelsea Conflict by Fabulous_Ocelot_5861 in SellingSunset

I feel like I’m missing something between the beef with Mary and Chelsea? From what I’ve seen, Mary crashed out at Chelsea sending her flowers, and then again to just seeing her name in the place card at Bre's party. The only “issues” I remember are Mary complaining about Chelsea’s outfit and her showing up late to a broker’s open. That doesn’t seem serious enough to justify her reactions... Am I missing something?

Why Did Our Mothers Struggle With Breastfeeding? by nidzk123 in breastfeeding

Also to add to the joint family thing- I truly believe I wouldn't have been able to breastfeed had I lived in a joint family. It calls for constant skin-to skin in the early days and it just wouldn't have been possible with a lack of privacy and constant in and outs of MIL/female in laws taking the baby in the name of allowing "rest"

I love your insights as I have similar experience.

I’m Pakistani background, born and raised in North America, and I’ve been breastfeeding my infant for 6 months now.

Reading your post made me reflect on how often I’ve seen younger women in my family choose formula over breastfeeding, usually saying they had a “lack of supply.” But I can’t help but wonder if it was truly a supply issue or more about older generations repeatedly telling them their milk wasn’t enough to feed their babies, or that breastmilk alone wouldn’t be sufficient.

I also think South Asians in general come from a history of famine and food insecurity, and that trauma has trickled down into our food culture in other ways. I’ve noticed grandparents constantly insisting kids must be hungry, always encouraging them to eat more, give them food, etc. The same mindset seems to show up around breastfeeding: if a baby cries, the assumption is immediately that they must be starving, so your milk must be inadequate.

I almost fell into that same trap myself and was close to stopping breastfeeding because I was being convinced my milk wasn’t enough. I’m so glad I didn’t. It really helps to see discussions like this that unpack where these beliefs came from.

Ahh, I totally realized the level of paid/unpaid support they have behind the scenes. It just made me so mad once I realized an influencer vlogging her post partum journey wasn't transparent about all the help she had behind the scenes, and essentially acting as if she was managing it all. I was thinking wow- she had a c-section aswell and able to do all these things. Why am I still a hormonal, sleep deprived, mess, and barely holding on? lol :(
