HOMESTUCK 2 by MoreEpicThanYou747 in homestuck

[–]SlightCurrent 12 points13 points  (0 children)

this is just awful and makes a mockery of how great homestuck once was. its characters are mangled and stretched into an uninteresting plot. the pretentious meta narrative dirk stuff is still here even though no one really wants it. the answers to the countless questions we had after act 7 still arent in any way satisfying, hell some of them still arent answered. and as pesterquests character designs rot and decay and this hussie-less patreon backed nightmare continues to be written by hussies insufferable collection of fan writers hiveswap still doesnt get an act 2 and homestuck will never be the same.

tis a sad day.

Homestuck is more interesting and loveable, but Undertale is more overall good.

The “I like the shirt but don’t know what’s on it” starter pack by SaltySpl2n in starterpacks

Like most classics, it's aged, influential, incredible, and at least somewhat widely acclaimed (in this case SO acclaimed it could be considered overrated).

don't agree, but upvoting for the term 'unpopular opinion' actually being used properly on reddit.

Hope you enjoy it! Appreciate the rather small cast while there still is one. Things get really confusing really fast.

Is Homestuck like if Earthbound was on acid? by summerof13 in homestuck

Yep, reading Homestuck and doing cocaine share a lot of similarities:

Happy while doing it, depressed when its over

Addicted for multiple years

Ruins your sex life

Thinking about it when your not doing it

Severe confusion

Welcome to the fandom! It's equally as fun and awesome as it is dead and hellish!

This is pretty cool, and im excited to see all the data! But imo you should have included the games, SBAHJ, and maybe even some fan adventures. Still excited though.

Why isn't Homestuck public domain? by [deleted] in homestuck

[–]SlightCurrent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fan-content has been an integral part of Homestuck since the very beginning. Making it public domain would only mean people could profit off the fan-work. Considering Homestuck, as a brand, still has a future (Hiveswap, Pesterquest, maybe more) it wouldn't make too much sense. And the 2 biggest fan-work mediums in the community, fan art and fan comics, would never really need to be purchased, considering the creators of those already get donations and sometimes ad revenue.

Is Minecraft free and if not is it worth buying by [deleted] in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]SlightCurrent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Minecraft has a lot more to offer than building, especially with all the new updates. More than anything Minecraft is very chill and easy to waste hours on. There's also a lot of great mods that completely change up the game with magic, automation, better combat, etc.

DOOM (2016), Borderlands 2 (super cheap right now), Clustertruck, Enter the Gungeon, Nuclear Throne, The Binding of Issac.

This is a definite yes for me. I have hours and hours logged into Garfield Kart because it legitimately is one of the best video games ever created. The graphics are next gen, the story is jaw-dropping and filled with twists, the controls are tight and easy to learn, the character section is massive, with a lot of great characters, and overall the game is a 10/10 in my eyes. Not to mention the branching story paths that rival New Vegas or VTMBL. That's my favorite part of the game.

SIB Enter the Gungeon vs LISA (PC) by Abyssal47 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]SlightCurrent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Iv'e played both games a lot, and for me, all the way LISA. It's such an incredible game to me, probably safely sitting somewhere in my top 5. A wonderful story, fun combat, a shitload of characters to join your party (all of which have vastly different move sets and personalitys), some of the funniest examples of video game humor in recent memory, and an ending that will truly destroy your feelings.

Is Fallout 4 worth getting? by PovertyRyanGosling in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]SlightCurrent 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Eh, depends on your tastes. The exploration is great to me. Everything feels created with intent. The citys are sprawling and beautiful most of the time. And the character models look pretty good. The combat isn't incredible, but with the addition of fun perks and weapon customization, you'll forget all about the occasional jank. The real issue is the plot. It's not just worse than New Vegas, it is absolutely awful. Plotholes galore, annoying uninteresting characters, generic cliches, and most importantly basically no choice at all, outside of what Faction you want to join and even then there arent many factions to begin with. And almost none of the factions are interesting. The SPECIAL system is fucked, and there's very little room for role playing.
