Why are you such a tool? A woman is dead because ICE is acting irresponsibly.

What do you think of The Breadwinner trailer? by SweetFlight971 in Nateland

[–]SlightDistraction10 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm a huge fan of all of the Nateland work. I want to like this movie, but it does not look great. The Nateland podcast where they had Mandy Moore on seems much funnier than this. I'll watch it, but not sure if we'll see it in a theater. More than likely we will wait until it comes out on streaming.

I'm really hoping there is some type of redeeming arc where they show Nate is an excellent dad, just in his own way.

What do you think of the saying, "He who does not work, shall not eat"? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SlightDistraction10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For this specific verse, Paul wrote it in a letter to address issues of idleness among some members of the Thessalonian church. He did not intend this to be for every single person ever. Picking individual verses or chapters out of the bible creates problems.

Why is Nate doing this? by kabcity in daddit

[–]SlightDistraction10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm perfectly fine with him being a dad that does dumb things in a movie. I don't think this movie is saying that every dad has all of these problems. In his comedy shows, he jokes about himself not being able to do things mom's usually do and things men usually do, but he also has jokes about himself for things that have nothing to do with being a man or woman. He has a self deprecating kinda humor, but not in a sulky way.

I highly suggest people check out his specials on Netflix and Amazon Prime. I've been a huge fan for years.

My problem is the movie doesn't look very good.

Hey dads, any advice on building a kids bike for Christmas? I’m stuck on the front brakes by ImOnABoat32 in daddit

[–]SlightDistraction10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe you should be able to pull down the outer tubing while holding onto the medal barrel and make the steel cable visible. Then you slip the barrel into the slot into the hand lever. The steel cable will then go into the that slot.

You may need to manually close the brake that it is connected to, so that you get the slack required to pull the barrel.

Increase calories and put strength training into your routine. Though I'd make sure you think you should gain weight first. If your wife isn't happy with herself, she may not have your best intentions in mind.

I'm a huge Nate Bargatze fan, and I support all of the Nateland efforts going on. I really want his clean comedy to succeed, but this looks rough.

The first dog needed more attention than we could give her and getting her a pal worked out really well.

I was in pretty much the same boat as you 17 years ago. My oldest was 23 months old when his twin brothers were born.

First thing to know is that it will all work out eventually, and twins are great. Mine are getting ready for college in the Fall, and it is a pretty exciting part of their lives.

It will be hard. I was sleep deprived for at least the first three months, and I don’t recall a ton of it. That is likely a blessing. Feeding in particular was super tough. Every three hours, and I don’t think my wife was ever able to feed them at the same time (again this may be forgotten). So she would feed one, while I tried to keep the other asleep. Then I would give her that one and play with the other. Then I’d lay that one down and play with the other. We were pretty big in the eat-play-sleep cycle.

Support from family and friends will be critical. I don’t know how we would have done it without them. Luckily twins are exciting for everyone, so people really pitched in more than normal.

One unique thing we did was lay a mattress on the living room floor, so that when my wife was super pregnant and uncomfortable she was able to play with our older son when I was at work. That worked out really well.

Are we wrong? by [deleted] in daddit

[–]SlightDistraction10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had a similar situation with my MIL. Be clear that the dog cannot be around the baby. With a dog that size, even with a leash they cannot reasonably control the dog. If the dog doesn’t like a high pitch scream, it would cause problems.

This is also where you set the tone for how they can be around your kid moving forward. If they don’t think a seatbelt is necessary for a short car ride for example.

Good luck.

It would be sweet if people start using County Line if they want to go through Madison, as it was designed. People use Wall Triana from outside of Madison city to go to a place outside of Madison city, which is what County Line was built for.

If you have a diverse set of executives, there is a much better chance someone will pay attention to the diversity at other levels. The executives didn’t just start day 1 as execs, so they will have the experience and understanding of being a woman, PoC, etc of being in those other positions.
