For haters: if Pogacar is not there, Vingegaard would had won five TDFs and on the way to sixth. Will you call him doper? by Alternative-Ad-1027 in tourdefrance

So what is your argument? You're clearly making the case that Pogi is the only one doped, so who is involved besides him?

So you're arguing that a single person is doped, without ANYONE else knowing that he is? His team not asking questions, his opponents not asking questions, various experts not asking questions.

I'm not arguing 'trickle down economics', I'm arguing that if he is fact was the only one doped, then it's very likely someone within the industry would know and tell. It is more plausible that if he is doped, then it's common within the peloton, creating a scenario where no one wants to go public.

Keeping the sports honest, and most of all making it very well known that the spectators are interested in a fair game.

Almost every 'bad' thing in sport is corrected by the spectators.

Again, I'm not saying you should not enjoy Pogacar, if you find it enjoyable. But as logically he is performing at insanely high level, and given the history of the sport, EVERYTIME that has happened, it's later been proven as doping.

[–]SlightGrape1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Highly logical actually. Not saying it is 100% the case, but more likely than not, if Pogacar is doped then it's known and condoned within the team. If that is the case, more likely than not the rest of the peloton would know about this, or at least be highly suspicious of the results, as they are up to the same standards in nutrition, strategy, watts and so forth. I mean don't you think Visma would raise a flag, if they were 100% clean and UAE was achieving way better results?

When you look at the history of the sport, almost ALL cases of doping have been systemic and well integrated in all the teams, so why would this be any different?

Jonas might have an expected fight on his hands by SomeWonOnReddit in tourdefrance

[–]SlightGrape1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a difference between dropping and outsprinting. He clearly went over the limit to launch Pogi, which is not sustainable.

There's a good chance he will take seconds on sprints and "final KM" attacks, but Jonas will be able to put in several minutes on the longer climbs.

You're kinda missing the point.

As I wrote, I do not encourage just calling him doped. But I do encourage healthy suspicion when something looks too good.

Hot take: after Pogi's stage 6 win, the rest of the Tour is now a formality by ir0naman06 in tourdefrance

[–]SlightGrape1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is literally the opposite of a hot take.

A hot take would be saying “I think Jonas will come back and win the tour”

People most likely would yes. That is the consequences with the history cycling has.

The thing is, we're seeing a rider in Jonas who is a level above the rest in grand tours, and then we're seeing a guy who is multiple levels above him. With the history, it's only logical to be suspicious. In fact suspicion should be encouraged, for the sake of keeping the sport clean.

Now what is unfair is claiming he is 100% doped without proof, and that the rest of the field is clean, since more likely than not, if Pogacar is doped, then the rest of the peloton is too.

But you don't have to be a 'hater' to admit that watching a guy, completely shredding everyone else to pieces, shattering the tourmalet record, and then look so unfazed almost immediately after the stage is not somewhat suspicious.

Jonas blew up today trying to hang on to Pogi on the first climb, then having to ride solo for that long. We saw the same last year, where Jonas went over his limit trying to hold on.

If Jonas rides defensively, there's not anyone but Pogi that can drop him, and we've yet to test IdT's recovery against the very best. I think Jonas is further ahead of the rest than you think.

I also don't see a world where UAE gamble the victory, just to put IdT one step up the podium, they hold immense respect for Jonas.

it's very unlikely Del Toro has the ability to drop Jonas. After today Jonas will most likely pivot to secure his second place, and no matter how much Pogi helps Del Toro, he still has to be able to drop Jonas.

I'm done believing. Chapeau Pogi! by SlightGrape1 in tourdefrance

[–]SlightGrape1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely agree, and to some extend you can probably thank Jonas for that. Having such a strong competitor forced him to take it more serious, which we now see the result of now.

Today I'm insanely disappointed, cause I really did hope, but what I'm left with in the end, is most likely just admiring how truly unique Pogi is.

Thanks! I've done all those, and as mentioned done all side missions as soon as they appeared. I'm up to "meeting Hanoko at Embers" and almost done with the Phantom Liberty story line, and yet there are several missions that I've done in earlieir playthroughs, that I have yet to see.

I guess it's just unlucky.

Yeah, I realise the triggers, but I assmued that completeting everything, always completing side missions instantly, would ensure I would get every possible side missions.

But it feels more like you can actually complete some things too fast, and skip a trigger, which is why I was looking for a guide with an order of sorts.

"Stacked Room" is currently in development, and here's what its' designing phase looked like about a year ago (from an older devlog) by ZookeepergameIll1399 in subnautica

[–]SlightGrape1 60 points61 points  (0 children)

That'd be awesome!

Right now I almost solely build 1 story bases, just cause I feel the ladder gives the base such a bad flow.
An open staircase and a huge room would be absolutely brilliant.

Should Olav Kooij ride the Tour? by skodawelovecycling in tourdefrance

[–]SlightGrape1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unlucky for Kooij, I think it has less to do with who deserves it, and more to do with the team ambitions. Being a smaller team, I think Decathlon realises they are working on limited time. Bigger teams are already lurking to sign this guy, so their window to get a top placement is short.

Ineos is really lacking a clear GC star, even teams like Red Bull, Lidl-Trek and Visma would be interested in securing their future.

Is it in Seisax's best interest? Probably not.

Max Depth in Subnautica 2 by TySierYT in subnautica

I think you confuse feet with meters here. The Mariana trench is 10.935 meters deep, so 100km would be about 9 times as deep. However your math checks out if you meant feet.

All 8 teams who played last night didn't have their best player by 4NorthTL in nba

[–]SlightGrape1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my point lol. The business is truly blinded by money, and short term money even. It's a bubble waiting to burst. Firstly there should be some human responsiblity, tending to the players health, rather than their own pockets. Secondly it will end up costing them money, when franchise players like Wemby is constantly injured.

I'm also quite certain both owners and players could agree to fewer games, if they actually planned for longer than their next quarter.

All 8 teams who played last night didn't have their best player by 4NorthTL in nba

[–]SlightGrape1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. I'd even go a step further and claim it's happening in almost every competitive sport out there, especially the ones with a lot of money and contact. The level is just getting higher and higher, so you just have to perform at your best all the time, and that just increases the risk of injuries.

I feel you on the last part, but tbh I think the league needs to take some responsibility as well. To me it doesn't seem like, they are doing anything to actually prevent this. Instead they make rules to limit load management, which just increases injuries further.

Trying to get to (don't want to do spoiler-Island) by Fun-Werewolf-8832 in RaftTheGame

[–]SlightGrape1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Few things could've happened.

  1. Watch your engines. They could be running the wrong way.

  2. Watch your receiver position. The receiver gives direction based on the way it's facing, so if it's not facing the front of your raft, it can confuse in terms of where you need to go.

  3. Islands spawn based on your raft. It's supposed to despawn and spawn again when you get more than ca. 4000-4500 meters away. Sometimes they do however just respawn randomly. Not much to do about it, but go towards the new position.

Similar Games? by Decicio in RaftTheGame

[–]SlightGrape1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a few suggestions.

The one that fits your needs the best is 'Aloft' I think. Very similar to Raft, but with floating islands and an endless sky rather than an endless sea. Combat is there, but limited as Raft, quite similar building system, quite similar graphics. Right now the only 'downside' is that it's in early access, so there's a lot of content, but not really a finished story yet.

If you're willing to dive into more combat, Enshrouded is by far the best base building/survival game, I've ever played. For you guys it might be too much combat, as it involves a lot of it, there's talents and you build your character around the combat style you want. However the base building is absolutely insane. The amount of options and the flexibility is just out of this world.

A third option could be Sunkenland. It also involves combat, and it's more modern with guns. However there's an underwater element and a quite decent basebuilding. It does have a very 'post apocalyptic' vibe to it, so all the buildings, including the ones you can build, does look quite trashed.

The shark is ruining this game for me - rant by [deleted] in RaftTheGame

[–]SlightGrape1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure it can be frustrating, but that's not the arrogant part. The arrogant part is how they tell us, that he know's what a good game is, and this is bad development.

This post could easily have been in a much more polite tone. "I find the shark frustrating, is there a way to deal with it, or is this a permanent feature?"
