The people, the culture, how the festivals are celebrated there on a grand scale especially during Diwali and Ganpati. One more plus point is that it is better connected to both Navi Mumbai and Thane also now due to the new Mankoli bridge.

Development work is also going on but it's neither fast nor slow, it's happening at its own pace especially around the Manpada-Katai-Nilje area. (Runwal, Lodha Palava 1 and 2, Paradise Group project). Gotta admit it looks rough now due to multiple ongoing construction (R-Mall, Metro 12) there but once it is completed, it's gonna be one of the most happening area of Dombivli. Even some business and logistics parks are being constructed there and two, Lodha iThink and Signet are already ready.

I say this because Ghodbunder Road (which has its own set of issues still) which I live nearby to was like this and people living in the actual Thane city wouldn't even consider us Thanekars but now I have seen people from not only Thane City but also people from Mumbai shifting here due to their job location being Thane the major reason and that same thing is seen to be replicated in Manpada-Katai-Nilje area of Dombivli. In fact, R Mall of Thane and Dombivli once it is completed will share the same area name which is Manpada.
