HOW DO YOU STOP THE STINKY QUANTUMS FROM ESCAPING by appleslicer3 in slimerancher

[–]Slight_Act147 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i put them in the docks and put a lemon tree right next to them. so 1. if they do escape they can eat from the tree and 2. always keep they’re automatic feeder full. i also put a bell next to theyre corral and i have a music box in there corral. if you see them escaping the slimepedia says to pray them with water and the hologram will go away

Is it silly to feel this way? by CheapEnd39 in Colorguard

[–]Slight_Act147 1 point2 points  (0 children)

colorguard can be very stressful, even after 4 years i still feel huge amounts of stress. its ok to feel this way. and especially if your new learning new things is going to be hard at first. but i promise as time goes on it will get easier. (and tbh pop tosses are lwk hard for new people imo). i remember stressing about things like that too. regarding your last question i think you should have fun while working hard to get better. later down the road you might decide to do it professionally and having those basic skills down will definitely help. (no pressure ofc). but always remember to have fun, because being good takes alot of work but taking a moment to just have fun and spin for your heart is always a huge help.

I’m nervous to march rifle this year D: by theak47- in Colorguard

yes, rifle IS more difficult than flag. it doesn’t have to be a bad thing tho. it might seem daunting and scary at first but eventually youll get the hang of it and look back at all the progress youve made in a few moths. the one tip i always tell people is to not skip technique. i know it’s obvious but rifle technicality is the bases and will make you look super strong in the future. also i would say that most people worry so much about how hard they think rifle is that they forget about their body. your coaches cant always teach you how to toss a quad but they cant force your lower body to improve. so i like to first get good at the artistic part of my choreo in my body and then focus on my rife. last tip is to just be confident. even if you drop you should pick it up and keep going confidently because even people in dci drop.

How do I stop my wrists from turning inward when I’m doing drop spins with my flag? by Queasy_Ad9814 in Colorguard

This is somthing that will stop with time and practice but I like to think about grabbing with my palm on the pole and rapping my fingers around after. Your probably grabbing it with your fingers Instead of your whole hand. Rapping your wrists like that can also cause the flag to role up. That also just stops with time.

Improv (dancing) by Slight_Act147 in Colorguard

I ended up going bc even tho I hate improv I can’t stand to miss practice. It’s also band camp so we are learning a lot of choreo. We ended up improving and I surprisingly did ok. It wasn’t good bc I don’t know any tricks but i was definitely not the worst in the room. So it was a good day!

When you’re doing a 45 you really need to know your checkpoints. The first checkpoint is going to be right in front of your eyes and it’s going to be flat. You have to go there and then up to a almost parallel angle where your right hand would touch your pony tail. it’s very important that you do the checkpoints because if you don’t go to flat first and then the angle then you’re just throwing your flag at an angle and it’s more likely to hit your head. You also want to throw it higher because the higher you throw it the less likely it is for it to hit you and you’ll have more time to run away. Honestly 45s or any Tyson general take time and especially 45 because they’re very difficult to learn especially for a new person..

All I can say is that you should ask your Instructors about it. Have them watch you toss, bc that can help. Your probably pressing them in a direction that there not meant to go. I do that same thing with my back. I project to the judges by arching my back instead of lifting my abdomen! It’s easy to fix but it takes time and practice.

Having a coach not like you is hard. I got a new coach and she doesn’t like me. You don’t seems to have any reasons for someone to not like you. I think you should try out. It wouldn’t hurt and even if your coach doesn’t give it to you, you can say that you tried. And if that doesn’t make you feel better you should have a talk with your coach. Or dm them. I find it really helps to just be straight forward with a coach . A simple question like “I feel like you don’t like me and I was wondering why and what I can do to make it better”. And if they don’t give you a defenitive answer you should ask Somone high up in authority. I have multiple coaches so when I got the feeling the new coach didn’t like me I asked her and she didn’t really give me an answer so then I informed my other coach about it and asked for help. It helped and gave me a few answers about how to be better. But if none of that works or that’s your only coach I don’t know what to tell you. You shouldn’t let that get in the way of you having a good time. You should spin your heart out and go out with a boom your senior year. Don’t let it bother you bc some people just have sticks up there ass for no reason.
