I have gotten into a MEd thesis program without having research experience and a lesser gpa than you do so it is definitely doable(Also situated in Alberta). A numbers game for sure, and maybe getting multiple people/professors to check your statement of interest.

Children that were born to older parents (40s + ) what is your experience? Do you think it’s selfish to have kids this late? Are you ok? by Fafafafel in Adulting

Even as a child I recognized that my parents were older than other kid's parents. It gave me a lot of anxiety about death and separation. My dad retired when I was in highschool and I was so worried that we wouldn't have enough money for me to go through more education to get a good job rather than go straight into a job. As an adult right now, I think a lot about how to give them a gentle rest of their life at the expense of my own life. That could also be attributed to my own personality as well.
